• The ultimate Bridge Builder Game

WHAT? The concept of Bridge Builder is simple yet brilliant. Your task is to build a bridge which has to support a passing train and stay undamaged. Actually, it doesn't necessarily have to stay undamaged, the train just has to pass to the other side safely... Each bridge element is $100 and your budget is limited. The process is simulated using a fairly realistic physics engine and rendered in real time. There are many ways to play Bridge Builder: you can choose just to build working bridges so you can pass all levels quickly (more or less). If that's not enough, you can try to optimize your bridges to be as cost-effective as possible . Of course, you can also forget sommon sense and build crazy and weird bridges, try to make them look particularly nice, or even cunstruct complex mechanisms..., just for the fun of it... The game sets no limits for your creativity! WHY? BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME, the game is simple enough, run on fairly old computer, is portable (if you install it to your usb drive) and it's FUN! WHERE? Right here, my friend, is a little installer: WINDOWS: http://www.crypticsea.com/bbgsetup.exe LINUX: http://www.crypticsea.com/bridgebuilding.tar.gz MAC: http://www.crypticsea.com/bbgmacbeta.dmg MEDIA? Here what it look like: MODDING? well, not really no. BUT there is a lot of map pack avaiable to offer new challenges! see: http://www.bridgebuilder-game.com/bb-levels.php For more information.
Well not to sound rude but this game is horribly outdated and OLD.
Well not to sound rude but this game is horribly outdated and OLD.
So? It's still fun!
Well not to sound rude but this game is horribly outdated and OLD.
It's also incredibly hard.
Well not to sound rude but this game is horribly outdated and OLD.
so what, you're even older and outdated, let the old good game be please
so what, you're even older and outdated, let the old good game be please
A person isnt outdated until its 70s or 80s. Anyways, I think somewhere there is a free 3d clone of this. Ill go see what I can dig up [editline]09:08AM[/editline] No free one but Bridge It is available for $20. Personally I felt the sequel, Bridge Construction Set (formerly named Pontifex 2) to be the definitive bridge building simulation, but that one is not free. However it seems Cryptic Sea is working on a sequel to that too: http://www.crypticsea.com/pontifexiii/index.html I played Pontifex 2 quite a bit a couple of years ago, mainly messed with hydraulic bridges, but it didn't hold my interest for too long. A nice little oddity in the gaming world though. If I recall, "Bridge It" was a smaller, simpler version of the game designed more as a graphics demonstration for nVidia cards at the time rather than the gameplay itself. It did not have any modding support and few levels, and could be completed quickly. Not the version I would suggest.
We played this at school a few months ago. Pretty damn awesome :buddy:
if the bridge fails and the train engine made it to the other side, it will pull itself out of the water and you beat the level
if the bridge fails and the train engine made it to the other side, it will pull itself out of the water and you beat the level
yeah, only on mappack 1. Because in the "new" map pack, most map have the train cross the bridge 2 time
We used West Point Bridge Builder in my engineering class, seems like this but better.

Flintstones bridge? [editline]05:20PM[/editline] Whenever a car drives over it a sound will play: "YABBA DABBA DOOOOO~"
Well not to sound rude but this game is horribly outdated and OLD.
Or, in other words, THE GRAPHICS ARE SHIT THE GAMEPLAY IS FOR HOMOS IT NEEDS DX 11 FUU :C
I own BCS, fuck I want to reinstall it now. I made some awesome bridges, I had so much fun with that game.
Or, in other words, THE GRAPHICS ARE SHIT THE GAMEPLAY IS FOR HOMOS IT NEEDS DX 11 FUU :C
Um. No. The gameplay is great, you just assumed that I hated it for it's graphics. Don't assume things you make an ASS out of U and ME
*dinosaur bridge* This one's better.
What game is that? I want it.
Bridge Construction Set, aka Pontifex 2, which I mentioned above.
