• Steam games have vanished.

Has this happened to anyone else? I turned my computer on one afternoon, to play some Garry's Mod, only to find that the only games installed on my steam list were shortcuts. I browsed all the way to my steamapps folder, and there was nothing in there. The day before, there was about 40gb of .gcf files in there. My mate told me to scan my computer, cause I might have a steam virus or something like that, but I didn't find anything. :suicide: It's not THAT big a deal, I guess, because I can get all the files I need back from friends, but the one thing I can't get back are my Garrysmod files. I had about 10gb or so of addons, and they've all gone too. If anyone knows how I can get my shit back, that'd be much appreciated.
Sounds like you were drunk last night.
:iiam:
No, it was just a weather balloon. (User was banned for this post ("weather balloon" - Lithifold))
Try looking in your recycling bin?
Try looking in your recycling bin?
Nah, I haven't emptied it in a while, and there's only crap music and other school shit in there.

I'll check it out, thanks. EDIT: Shit, it didn't find anything. Why would they just disappear like that? Argh. And no, I wasn't drunk. -_-
Reinstall steam.
Shit happens. Some of my games like to vanish now and again.

Steam must have sensed your age and decided you were not old enough to play video games.
use windirstat to find the giant .gcf cache
use windirstat to find the giant .gcf cache
You're a genius. Thanks for the help. ^_^ And I'm old enough to play every game I have, btw. Nice try.
If your mate has access to your PC he might be playing a trick on you.
