Lately I've been getting ALOT of scam mails. Most of them are really dumb, containing links to fake websites like "worldofwowacraft.com". And seriously, who falls to that shit? Blizzard even put warnings on the breaking news section in the login screen. No one is gonna steal my precious wow acc:ninja: Discuss
worldofwowacraft? :ohdear:
Loading screen tip clearly tells you: Blizzard employees will NEVER ask for your password!
I've yet to get a single one of these...
I still haven't either. I also haven't bought gold
if you have to buy gold but arent in a top 10 raiding guild youre bad at the game
Or incredibly lazy.
I send scam mails/fake alpha invites to myself so I feel important.
if you fall for a email scam you deserve to lose your account

oh ok after re-reading what you said i get it now.
I get about 2-3 a month and they all get consigned to junk and never seen again. It never used to happen though so I guess I must have joined a WoW related forum or something and they got my email from that.
ive never had one i feel left out [editline]10:17PM[/editline] maybe its because i dont put in my email unless they promise not to sell it
My usual amount of scam mails a month was like 5. Now, in one month, I'm getting somewhere around 50 for whatever reason. It's fucking with my head.
pics?

From wow wiki...
Thousands of players have received e-mails inviting them to join an "alpha test". These are scammers who are looking to capitalize on unsuspecting victims. A few points to remember if you receive an invitation to help test Cataclysm or any Blizzard product: Blizzard does not invite the general player base to alpha tests. It has an army of game developers and testers for that. As with the previous two expansions, beta testing will be announced by Blizzard on the official World of Warcraft website. Beware of clicking official-looking links to that site in e-mails, as scammers often build official-looking copycat sites - instead bookmark the official site or use the link on the game login screen. It cannot be stressed enough to players that Blizzard will never ask you for your credit card, password, user name, e-mail address or any other information it already has. This will not happen ingame, nor in e-mail. If you are asked for this info, you are very likely being scammed. Though specific details about Cataclysm's beta procedures have not been implemented yet, there is a thread in the official forums by Frejya about what to expect from Blizzard that thread: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=19820323054&sid=1

Loading screen tip clearly tells you: Blizzard employees NEVER asks for your password!
clever emails like these never do the more better thought out scam ones usually send you email to verify your account or something like "congratz on your new pet named xxx" and it takes you to a login screen obviously most people enter their password and username/email. Hell i made over 1000 dollars like that, scamming accounts, selling gold to chinese. Bad thing is the paypal account got banned because chinese goldfarmers were using stolen credit cards.
You're still an asshole for wasting people's time.

I saw a video about Cataclysm Alpha on youtube right after the announce. I downloaded and signed up, they asked me to check my email and there was a mail were "Blizzard" wanted my password to verify that the account was mine. I replied that i changed my mind and wanted to wait for official release, because that would be alot funnier to see whats new. I got a new mail from them the next day wich said: "We understand what you mean and will no longer try to steal your account. Thank you. :buddy:
