The Realm of Lathamel is a survival Minecraft server that aims to have an RP feel without using obstrusive plugins and rules. Players are encouraged to create their own stories and groups, anything from a gang of petty bandits patrolling the roads, a humble farmer selling produce or the mayor of a thriving town, or you can just go off killing mobs and building a base like usual. Anything goes as long as it adheres to a few reasonable rules:
- No hacking or exploiting.
- No mob traps, stacked/underground farms.
- No water or lava spam. And don't start fires in the woods, they wont spread anyway.
- Don't leave floating pieces of tree, ensure the whole thing comes down.
- No pointless/ugly buildings/pixel art, this means ugly 1x1 towers and box houses made of wood.
- Put effort into your buildings and if in a town try to match the general theme of the buildings there.
- Don't touch other peoples stuff without permission.
- Don't remove or block roads and bridges.
As the server is new there is currently a slot limit of 10 players, this will increase as the server becomes more active. Players are advised to create a home in the starting town of Foxbridge before exploring as it is currently the only safe settlement (no pvp or mobs), and it'd be nice to expand from the current few buildings into a decent town, there's a mine by the riverside containing re spawning materials:

Plugins:
- Essentials: Controls a few things like permissions and the economy.
- Residence: Allows players to claim an area in which they may protect items.
- MoneyDrop: Makes mobs drop money when killed, a good way to make quick cash.
- Lumberjack: Makes chopping down trees more realistic and less annoying.
- RegenBlock: Allows blocks to respawn after being destroyed in certain areas, used for special mines.
- WorldBorder: The server uses a custom terrain that does not infinitely generate, so this stops you going too far out.

As the server is still in early days new features will be added and changed overtime so if you have any problems talk to an admin about it :)

I can't mine unclaimed land, nothing, not even the Scottish highlands bordering the town. The lack of players also makes this restriction even more alienating.
