I had a house that was a square but 40 blocks on each side and 40 blocks tall not including stair roof height, made if bricks. No screens, unfortunately. The file got boring, and not long after that I stopped playing MC for like, 5 months.
My houses are always just holes in the sides of mountains.

There's some instances where symmetry really just belongs. I mean I get it, not everything has to be symmetrical and I agree with you but sometimes a detail just screams at you.

Symmetry is important, but at the same time it's not. I try to build things symmetrical, but I don't make a point of it and if it doesn't work out, I say fuck it.

I think symmetry on small things (like the gate on the front of the house, 5 on left and 5 on right, is nice. However I do think that overall symmetry looks bland. Example, I don't think if you have a tower on the left you need one on the right.
