Hello!
I have been searching the net for a while without luck.
I am a kind of a natural biology freak so i was wondering if there are any games at all out there that simulates an eco-system. The closest thing i have found are the "Creatures" series and they suck.
I know i have been clogging up the forums with this topic, but i´m desperate!

PS: Don´t even mind trolling.
No one will care.
Sim Earth is the best I can think of, but the graphics are kind of sucky now. If you can look past the outdated visuals though, I doubt there is another sim of that kind that is as accurate.
Maybe the Anno series. The economical system is build upon a demand/offer system.
I think that he meant ecological.
The only thing I can thing of is Seaman with Leonard Nimoy.

There's only one stage of Ecological system, and it's a bad one at that.

Controlling one species and leading it through a bastardization of Evolution until you go into space and completely drop that idea =/= Ecosystem simulation.
SimEarth fits the description of what he wants much better.
In elementary school, there was a "game" for the Apple II called Island Survivors. It really wasn't so much a game as it was part of the lesson at the time, but atferwards the teacher had it available for use during free time.
It started out you picked what animals, plants and water life would be on the island. You had to take into consideration that a plant or animal might be a food source for multiple animals, and somethings like turtles and bears started with naturally low populations. The actual game is you splitting tasks between your 3 survivors, which include fishing, hunting, gathering plants, building a shelter and collecting firewood.
As far as I've looked, there is no way to get your hands on it outside of buying the material it was part of.

Sim earth fits the build pretty well.
Well, there was this Star Wars game, the Gungan Frontier or something like that...
It's kinda what you asked, but probably not what you're looking for...
Thanks everyone for helping me!
but please if anyone finds anything else feel free to post a suggestion:)
There's a free game called aiplanet, it's pretty cool.

That looks like a great game.
I would say Sim Park also should work for what your looking for.

Do you mean Impossible Creatures?
:siren: AIPLANET!! :siren:
Ai planet is just what you want!

Its better than anything commercial out there.
I think there was a eco-system simulator made for very early computers, there were small red and green cells (reds being predators and greens being herbivores) if a red was next to a green, then there was a likely chance that the green cell would become empty (eaten) and every minute the cells would fill up a random amount of any empty cells next to them, and if a predator was not near any herbivore cells for a whole minute, it would die.
Unfortunatley I don't know it's name, sorry.

That game was so much fun. Unfortunately it doesn't work on anything past Windows 98.

Drop three trees of type A in slot A, two trees of type B in slot B and five bushes of type C in slot C.
Add two animals of type 1 and three of type 2.
...
Ecosystem simulation. Yes.
