You may remember seeing some WIP shots I posted a few years back for Left 4 Winchester, a L4D2 campaign based on Shaun of the Dead. Well... the campaign died and then was resurrected by a tweet from Simon Pegg who found some of the old WIP shots late last year and thought the idea was awesome. Needless to say, this celebrity endorsement shot new life in to the project and it is full steam ahead. Here are a few renders from our prop artist, Josh England. He has been creating new custom props at a really fast clip. He is a wip screenshot of the exterior: Hope to send updates through every couple of weeks. Oh golly, that looks great. I'm glad it picked back up.
Find bat. Find survivors. Take them to the Winchester and wait for all this to blow over. Needs a pint too.

The finale better have queen music :v:
The finale better have queen music :v:
Don't stop me now during a horde. Oh gawd yes.
fuck i love the idea of this; I was honestly surprised it had never been made yet, or hell no one imported the zombie master map, but still. I am looking forward to playing this very much
The finale better have queen music :v:
That is an absolute guarantee. Why even bother making a SOTD campaign if there was no Queen?
This looks amazing!
So Pegg himself resurrected this eh? Maybe the cast could come back together :3 But seriously, voices or not... any chance of custom survivor models?
So Pegg himself resurrected this eh? Maybe the cast could come back together :3
It would be fucking cool if he actually voiced Shaun in this campaign.
So Pegg himself resurrected this eh? Maybe the cast could come back together :3 But seriously, voices or not... any chance of custom survivor models?
It's possible isn't it?
I remember there was an old Zombie Master map that was styled after Shaun of the Dead. It was so fun to play on micspam servers, all you ever heard was people playing Queen songs and the Gonk.
So Pegg himself resurrected this eh?
someone contact pegg about this and see how much $$$ it'd take to get some voices recorded for it because yknow id put in money for it
I think we should actually start a Kickstarter or something to get Simon and the others to voice for the Campaign. That would be awesome.
someone contact pegg about this and see how much $$$ it'd take to get some voices recorded for it because yknow id put in money for it
Simon Pegg totally seems like the kind of guy that would be down for this, he's into video games, isn't he?
Simon Pegg totally seems like the kind of guy that would be down for this, he's into video games, isn't he?
He has voiced in three games already so I assume so.

Half the music was actually embedded into the map too.
Just an odd point that I always thought was weird in L4D how there was never a semi-auto rifle prior to the bolt-action sniper. You'd think a Winchester would have fit in perfectly, especially since Cricket bats are already in the game.

Oh yeah, huh, I was thinking about the scoped hunting rifle.
A L4D campaign with traditional zombies, not fast infected. That would be something. As many on screen as a typical L4D game, but can only be taken down by head shots.
"Who voted for this map?" "It's on random."
A L4D campaign with traditional zombies, not fast infected. That would be something. So unless there's some kind of hack to put hundreds rather than dozens on screen without causing lag then it wouldn't work.
I would run right past them. So unless there's some kind of hack to put hundreds rather than dozens on screen without causing lag then it wouldn't work.
LODs up the arse, son.
I would run right past them. The mechanics are all wrong. It would have to have more choke points or obstacles to slow you down to make them more threatening obviously.
Looking forward to playing this! top notch models!
Exclusive weapons: pool cue, spade, flowers(to mum) Survivors: Shaun, Ed, David and Liz. Un-common common: Phillip-Ability to set off car alarms when walking past them. Football kid - kicks footballs which stuns player. A man can dream.
