Help me not fail at CS:S. - Games

I was playing on this one server, de_dust1/2, and it was my first time playing. I had no idea what to do. I didn't know what weapons were good, I sucked balls at sniping, and my Kill/death ratio was at least 1:4/5 Basically: Just tell me the basics, and I can learn from there.

Aimbot. Run towards opponents.

Crouch and aim shoot in bursts, my best advice.

Ugh, I remember my first few games with CS:S, rage-quited a few times but finally got around to playing it more and more often. (Playing something that pisses me off? That doesn't seem right :v: )

Every gun has it's uses, except the glock.

Play with bots.

Stop playing CS:S. Problem solved.

Don't play CS:S as an intro to this type of shooter. Go with 1.6 and then if you really want to play this, you'll be better than the average player.

Press `, type "fps_max 4" and press enter. All your troubles will be bubbles. This helps with performance. An alternative (if that doesnt work) is type "bind "mouse1" "kill". This basically autoaims for you.

Bursts, single shots. Practice against bots to time aiming. Practice. Practice. Practice.

Play on deathmatch servers, they're not quite the same experience as a regular server but you respawn in a few seconds when you die, so you get to play more.
