Alright facepunch, I've been wanting to tryout WoW for the past couple of months and a couple of days ago i tried to install it, I Downloaded the full client for Wrath of the Lich King and when I install it i get this, As you can see i am administrator in the corner, I've tried running in compatibility mode, as administrator, and in full admin. When i run the installer in full admin it doesn't respond so the only choice is to run it on my main account, Which IS admin but it says im not during the installer, so facepunch, can you help?
It's not the OS, I have W7 64-bit and my WoW runs fine. Try installing in a different directory. [editline]10:19PM[/editline] And welcome to Facepunch. It's safer here.
"administrator" user status and actual administrator in w7 is different, google how to unlock the secret admin user at login and install it on that then hide it again [editline]04:20AM[/editline]
It's not the OS, I have W7 64-bit and my WoW runs fine. Installing in a different directory would work. Just make a subfolder called "Games" or something and install it there.
You have to install wow to a place where it has constant permission, like My Documents
Alright, Ill try that. [editline]07:27PM[/editline] I dont have for which directory to install it in, once i hit the install shortcut it opens a window asking me what product to install, I hit wrath of the lich king and then it shows the administrator thing again. [editline]07:28PM[/editline] i mean full admin as in the secret admin user.
It asked me when i installed my copy to install to my documents and actually created a my games folder. It wont install to program files, my warcraft 3 won't update because its installed in program files
I'm not using a disc, I Just downloaded the client because i didn't want to stream the game with the trial. It works fine on my computer at my dads, which has win vista 64-bit , but on this computer it says i need to me admin. Try running the installer as admin? Right click the EXE and click run as admin
Well like people have said its fine on W7 and if you running it as an administrator then maybe re download a new version, make sure its the right region for you. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Check your Anti-Virus software. I know that I have issues installing anything on my computer when I have AVG's Resident Shield running. If not, then I suggest googling how to completely make yourself an admin through code.
It's because you're installing World of Warcraft to a non-public directory. That means Windows won't let World of Warcraft write data. I had the same problem and I simply just installed it outside my default program folder.
I've ran as admin, I've tried turning my antivirus off, and i got admin through cmd. I don't get an option where to install the game though. [editline]11:18AM[/editline] Holy fuck it worked, I turned off my anti virus again and tried it, Thank you!
no its the os
No, It's not mine works fine.
