Has Valve Totally Forgotten About Counter-Strike:Source?

It has been over a year since the last real CSS update, and I see less and less servers running nowdays. Is Valve going to release a new Counter Strike, or are they just going to let it die, and focus their attention on TF2?
Well what more is there to make?
CS:S was only made because the source engine had some features that the goldsrc engine didn't, such as better hit detection, and graphics.
CS:S is a boring game.
CS:S is the perfect example of a game that is still alive because of the community, not because of Valve.
No need to update CSS, it's fine as is I think.
Also they're busy working on worthwhile games like TF2
they don't want to upset the community
Remember when they released the radar update?
Valve is working on CS2, I remember something being mentioned in an interview with Gabe around E3.
Internally CS:S is on the Orange Box engine, but they haven't updated it on Steam

Remember when they did anything "OMFG WTF R VALVE DOAN THEY WILL RUIN CSS OMFG!!!!!!!!!!"

It's not a fucking MMO.
Most online FPS games either:
a) Only get updated with bugfixes and minor tweaks to balance the game
b) Get expansion packs that players have to pay for
TF2 is the first online FPS game to have relatively frequent free updates with completely new content. You can't expect Valve to go back in time and start doing that again with their older products that don't have a large amount of players and don't already have the precedent for free content like TF2. Especially with how resistant the CS community is to change. If you think people whining about TF2 updates is bad, you should hear the CS community when Valve changes something.
Virtually ever FPS ever made is eventually "abandoned" by the developer and left to be sustained by the community. There's no point in getting butthurt over Valve doing the exact same thing with a five year old game.
valve talked about adding achievements a while back, but all they've added them to is Red Orchestra and Day of Defeat Source
What about DoD:S?
It has the same problem
I would rather have a new Counter Strike, besides it doesn't need to be updated.
It's the mods that make it still playable.
css doesn't need any updates, just leave it up to the community OF css to do any updating, as tons of shits already been done as it is

It's fun with people you know. I regularly play it at school.
I agree that it's boring as fuck when playing online though.

What are you smoking I just loaded up 20,000 servers.
Yes
Why does there need to be a new Counter-Strike game? Its at its best as it is, theres nothing more to add, nothing more to take away, leave the game as it is. The community will do the rest, like they have for the last 4 or whatnot years, the mods is what makes the game interesting.
Someone emailed gabe a month ago and asked if there were any future plans for CS:S, he said yes.
DoD:S has some serious balancing issues and a terrible lack of maps
they just left that game in the cold
Half Life 2 Deathmatch needs an update too.

Compare that to back in 2007. How many servers did you load up then?

That is good to know. I am gald to hear it.
They could at least add some OB features like chat history and avatars in scoretable.
CS is only fun on deathmatch servers. I can't do shit when I'm dead 75% of the time.
Counter Strike Source is great fun, there are thousands of servers and there's all the game modes and the fact there's all the tournaments. Such as Enemy Down and the I series.
I admit it does need updating or we need more information on Counter Strike 2
