Meanign all amunition from pistols, automatic weapons, shotguns and explosives are all depleted and there's nothing to replenish them with. This happened me when i was playing HL1 on hard. I went against Nihilanth with a crowbar, 17 round of pistol bullets and hornet gun. Needless to say i was so pissed off after trying a week that i decided to give up and restart the game again. Nexst time i arrived with nearly full ammunition in every single weapon.
I did on my first run through of HL2. Ravenholm Especially.
My first time through Ravenholm, I couldn't figure out how to get through the one street with the infinitely spawning zombies. Eventually I ran out of ammo and died.

I don't remember any map spawning infintely zombies.
In ravenholm :sigh: i had absolutely no smg ammo left.
I never did because my gaming OCD causes me to not use a weapon if the ammo count is around 80% below the maximum.

I have the same thing. When i see my ammo in the SMG is around 100, i just have to switch to the other waepon. I can't leave ammo lying around either, so i shoto everything that cna be shot. Props, corpses etc. Then pick up all the ammo and leave.
First time playing HL2, ran out of ammunition for the SMG.
Immediately after getting it.

Having one gun or two out of ammo is one thing. Being completely without ammo on ahrd = you're fucked.
I usually run out of automatic rounds on Half-life, but get fucktons of shotgun bullets which I don't fucking get. The shotgun is POWERFUL in that game.

Only when you're hugging the enemy and using secondary fire.
Ran out on first play through cause I couldn't aim worth shit at the time.
Second time, ran out for mostly crossbow and .357, and I guess RPG.

SMG [b]was[/b] the only ammunition weapon that I had.
Only on Ravenholm. I didn't think about using the gravity gun.
I usually use a weapon till it's depleted. Then move onto another and by the time that one runs out I have ammo for the other.

I never run out of ammo, i rarely use weapons. I mostly use crowbar and GG.

That's a bad thing about HL2. Ammo lying behind every fucking corner, even in Ravenholm. In HL1 you actually had to scavenge in Xen. And that place really drained the juices as it was full of enemies, had little to no ammo at certain maps and....jesus.

This. I hate it when I run out of shotgun ammo when the fast zombies come running for me.
Using a pistol against zombies was a nightmare for me.
Ever since I played Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube, I've been very careful to reserve ammunition. That being said, I don't think that I ever ran out of ammo while playing Half-Life or Half-Life 2. The only place where I ever ran out of ammo was Xen, and that was only because I didn't notice the scattered stashes.
Yeah, now I remember. I had a bitch of a time on Xen. I continuously wasted darts and shells on the controllers. The grunts were cake, though.
I'm replaying the game on hard mode (fuck those soldiers), and I doubt I'll make it through with much ammo, if any.

Never ever, I mostly used the Gravity gun, it made the game for me.
I usually use crowbars and pistols and aim for the head so I always have my big guns left over if I get in a pickle.

In Ep 1 and Ep 2 on Hard difficulty I frequently ran out of ammo for almost every weapon.

I really really really missed my crowbar,
i kept hitting "1" the whole 85% of the game cause i still hadn't realized that it wasn't there for me.
Once i got it, i was fucking ecstatic, but then i realized you only use it for 3% of the game.
