I'm thinking of getting the fakefactory's cinematic mod. Do I have to download all of the versions, or can I just get the most recent, because the instructions say "click replace all files" I just don't wanna waste time getting all of them or fixing the fuckups.

I wouldn't use em, i personally wouldn't want to support or give credit to someone who simply buys and steals models, then applies ridiculously huge textures that are not needed. You can get the same effect without such retarded textures. On top of that i don't want to support someone who has a major ego problem and is bio-polar to the fucking extreme.

I drooled over the "new eye shader" from the last update...... until I found out - by browsing my L4D2 contents - that he simply took the shaders from the HL2 folder of L4D2 and placed them in his ridicuously large mod. :S
He didn't even modify them in any way, just copied them. What a retard. But telling everywhere that he "made" the shaders by modifying the Vortigaunts eye shaders? Oh Jesus. That guy isn't worth to be called a 'modder' in any way. He's actually degrading and insulting all real modders with his actions.

Well what did you expect?
You can only use the stuff the Source engine can support. Merging some third party shaders into the Source engine is barely possible and ends up mostly in errors.
Anyways, his way of modding is bringing the old hl2 game up to date with the todays standards of the Source engine + adding some of his own ideas. And that does not validate any modding rules, if there even are any.
So quit bitching. Either you like it or not, there's no need to get angry about it.
Playing through half life 2 with it and all the shitty ass models disabled with the latest fakefactory mod was kind of fun, some times the maps looked great but sometimes they looked over bloomed hl2 original with more high res textures.
Ep1 and Ep2 looks like shit tho, it worked for half life 2 because it is 5 year old game and it is beginning to look outdated, but the original ep2 and ep1 maps look just fine or hell, even great.

Wasted 10 gig of bandwidth and the models are fuck ugly [I]and[/I] errors fall out of the barnacles.
The only good thing I like that FakeFactory made, were those high res combine textures back in the gmod 9 days.

I liked the mod mostly, but i have to agree that the main character models are fucking horrible. And WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH THE SOUNDTRACK?! The original soundtrack made by Kelly Bailey is fucking epic. If he changes that i am not forgiving him. That. Soundtrack. Kicked. ASS.
