My hope for this thread is that people will post useful tips that aid in and outside of gaming. Be it technical related or a useful method for something that applies to more than just one game, if you find it useful, and think others will too, post it. My tip is that of a lesser known feature of steam. The backup game system. [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/steambackups.png[/img_thumb] Just right click on a game in your list and it will allow you to create compressed versions of your game's folder. I find this really useful for games with a lot of custom content you'd hate to lose or messing with game-breaking and file modifying mods. You can just make a backup, put it on a disc, and whenever you want to, insert the disc and install that same file state quickly and greatly! I found use for this with games like: Deus Ex with Shifter+HDTP+UI Fix Oblivion Morrowind Garry's Mod* CSS* and the STALKER games. Some games require extra stuff to copy all the content. For further help, read this FAQ thing on the steam site. To defeat the Cyberdemon, shoot at it until it dies.
The Half-Life 2 RPG is laser-guided. there's still people that don't know that
The Half-Life 2 RPG is laser-guided. there's still people that don't know that
The RPG in HL1 was laser guided, you could even steer enemy RPGs with it. :v:
In Raiden, focus around your ship, fuck everything else up without looking
If a game doesn't work, verify the games integrity.
The Half-Life 2 RPG is laser-guided. there's still people that don't know that
In HL2 the best approach to taking down a gunship with RPG is to stand out like a badass and shoot the rocket into the air, then just guide the rocket to screw with the gunship, because at this point they are trying to shoot the rocket down, not you. it's pretty fun, just swing your crosshair around the gunship until the rocket is close to it, then BANG! *wubuwubuwub* then new rocket, and the gunship shits himself, panics out.
Up up, square, circle, square, triangle, triangle, down, triangle, square, circle.
Half-Life 1 You can redirect guided missiles back at the enemy with your own RPG. Very handy for the M1A1 that I believe is sitting at the end of a trench.
Up up, square, circle, square, triangle, triangle, down, triangle, square, circle.
Up up down down left right left right B A start
R1 R2 L1 R2 left down right up left down right up I never even owned that game and still remember the cheats.
If the game won't start up, blow on the cartridge bottom
Disable mouse acceleration.
Running games as admin in w7 will often help with servers not showing latency in the browsers
the louder you scream into your microphone the more intimidated the enemy team becomes
QUICKSAVE. Don't you hate replaying annoying parts?

If you use Function keys for your quicksaves - space them out. Use F5 for Save and F9 for load to make sure you don't accidentally hit load instead of save.
F5 F5 F5
in dead space 1 pc turn off v-sync.
If the game permits reloading your weapon without losing ammo, reload as often as you can. Even if you just took one shot, reload.
If the game permits reloading your weapon without losing ammo, reload as often as you can. Even if you just took one shot, reload.
But god help you if the game lets you reload with a full clip.
I hate games that do that. It just seems weird.
R1 R2 L1 R2 left down right up left down right up I never even owned that game and still remember the cheats.
That a GTA cheat for health? Man i use to spam cheats in vice city all the time and knew them all off by heart. Was a long time ago now though. Also. Smoke grenades are a very useful tool in the battlefield.
But god help you if the game lets you reload with a full clip.
Chicago typewriter in Resident Evil 4. Oh god oh god reload reload
I think it's a weapon cheat. You would need to add some extra parts pending the tier though.
But god help you if the game lets you reload with a full clip.
Battlefield 2 was horrible after years of Counter-Strike on that account.
Unpredictable, random zig zagging in the battlefield may look stupid but could just save your life. And hey why not add a few jumps.
bunnyhopping is pro, people are just jealous they can't do it
If you're playing a game with mag drop when reloading, swapping weapons *may* cancel the reload.
