Since when does uninstalling Steam delete all your games?

Steam shit itself today and i had to uninstall and reinstall it like 3 times, thinking that my games would be safe. Finally get Steam working again and it deleted all my games, and is now proceeding to redownload all of them.

I thought Steam doesn't delete the games if you uninstall Steam itself?

If you check the reinstall/ debugging page you're supposed to briefly rename your steamapps folder to steamapps_old then reinstall, then rename it back the way it was. Happy ending for us all.

VALVe does not like it when you un-install their stuff

they do not like it at all.

Its probably a bug.
