How many hours of play time/how much replayability does Borderlands have?

My friend says it's awesome, and totally worth the buy, but I was just curious: How much of the two above things are there?
If you like a game for it's story then don't buy borderlands
If you like a game for it's multiplayer don't buy borderlands
If you like repeating a mediocre game for mildly better equipment, buy borderlands.

I played WoW for 2 years.
Looks like I'll enjoy it.
A) It's only fun with friends
B) It's only fun for like one playthrough, I don't know how long that would take.
yea I regret buying the game, after playing through it once I got bored
i look at borderlands like a rollercoaster. starts out boring and slow, then picks up pace and it really gets good, only to drop again and boredom strikes. it's not that bad but it's not that great either.

Unlike WoW however, you will probably spend all of your time grinding in singleplayer because the multiplayer lags so horrendously
I played WoW too, for a few years.
Borderlands is fun in the first playthrough (if you coop) and gets boring instantly after completing it.
It's fun the first time around, but I couldn't do it a second time.
But the first time it was totally worth it playing with friends and all.
Don't buy it. Some guy was giving me all these awesome reviews at school, and I bought it off Amazon. Luckily, it never arrived in the post and I got a refund, so I just rented it out. Was good for the first few levels, then I realized there's only like 5 different enemies you fight. And it got boring fast. Going back and forth between levels IS NOT fun.
I advise you to rent it out first. Sure, it's $5 to rent, but it's better than blowing $30 on it and not liking it.
borderlands has about maybe 10 hours of strait play, and a little under absolute nil replay value.
even with friends, its not fun.
if you want a shooter rpg, get stalker.
Borderlands was ultimately a flop. It definetly lacks replay value, in fact, it's so boring it isn't even interesting through the first playthrough.
I haven't played it that much since I got it. I wouldn't call it bad, just nothing to keep you hooked. And I hate being outgunned, so I grind too much and that isn't fun at all.
