I'm having problems with hitman 2: No sound + Crashes

A long time ago I played Hitman 2 on gametap because it was free, and it ran fine. So I decided to get the game.

When I start the game it has no sound and when I kill someone my game crashes. I'm running on Vista 32 home.

I tried running the game on compatability mode and that didn't work

I tried to lower sound acceleration but my sound card doesn't let you do that.

Also, I tried Dxdiag to lower hardware acceleration but Vista doesn't let me do that.

I reinstalled the game countless times.

Does anybody know a solution? It used to work fine when I played it on gametap.

Also in the game menu the sound option is grayed out and un-clickable.

Have you tried updating all your drivers, patching the game and all the normal troubleshooting steps.

Holy shit someone posted, yeah my drivers are up to date as well as the game.

It's an old game, probably compatibilty issues.

run it in compatibility mode by right-clicking on the shortcut, then clicking the "compatibility" tab, and then choose whatever version of windows hitman 2 is supposed to work on.

It knows you arn't awsome enough to play hitman games.
As a safety measure to keep your head from blowing up, the game refuses to run.
