Can you link me to said hl2:source beta? Also I tried finding box copies of half-life but the idiot sellers don't bother erasing the key when taking photos and makes the whole thing useless. Even though I already own them I would at least like a box copy with a usable key.

Woops forgot the 2 in it. There is no possible way to get hl1 beta since it was never leaked. Your best bet to get the earliest version would be Halflife Day one with was the first demo.
What's the EP2 Benchmark that keeps getting mentioned?
