So,any other European besides me raging why Valve after 6-7 years didn't fix 1 dollar = 1 euro conversion? It should be 1 euro = 0.63 dollar. It means that we always pay 1/3 more because we are from Europe,it's about time for Valve to fix this. Yes,I'm late, rate me clocks, but it's unfair.
Yes it is unfair. No, nothing is going to be done about it. Those aren't the prices that VALVe set, they're the ones that the developers set.
think of it as a payment for translating it to your original language lol idk
How is it unfair, us europeans always pay more even when storebought. So stop crying and get yourself together. Jesus people are becoming fucking stupid. I can't go one day without some idiot wandering about.
solution move to America well we do HAVE to live here so you gotta cut us some slack
g2play.net or get someone in america to buy it for you.
I don't really care if it's a bit more pricey when I buy here from the cold Finland. The reason is portability. I buy from Steam because I get it on my account which I can easily use to play that game on any computer.
Modern Warfare 2 is like 60 euros. That's madness.
Modern Warfare 2 is like 60 euros. That's madness.
It's also 60 american dollars. It's also 60 euros in stores. Stop your fucking whining, Jesus fuck. Why cut your profits in half, when the people are willing to pay for it. God, you people are dumb.
Hmm Modern Warfare 2 is only £40 for me.
Hmm Modern Warfare 2 is only £40 for me.
Way too much for a digital download.
g2play.net or get someone in america to buy it for you.
G2Play.net isn't reliable. I bought a MW2 key from there and it got removed from my account. I got a refund and now I plan on buying it from a store instead
So,any other European besides me raging why Valve after 6-7 years didn't fix 1 dollar = 1 euro conversion?
They only introduced Euro support in December 2008 :raise:
It's also 60 american dollars. It's also 60 euros in stores. Stop your fucking whining, Jesus fuck. Why cut your profits in half, when the people are willing to pay for it. God, you people are dumb.
Nowadays, 60 Dollars are equal at 44 Euros :v:
I prefered having to pay in dollars :saddowns:

God, you people are dumb.
Are you retarded or something? In my country, where everything is expensive as hell,MW2 Costs 4000 dinars,or should we say,40 euros. It turns out you are dumb one, stop being so stupid. Also, yeah G2P seems reasonable solution,I'll try it when I get my money back. I mostly buy from Steam when it's huge price drop, like holiday sale. Even if it's 1/3 more expensive to us,it's still worth it. But the thing is,they have fixed prices for brits, but not for other europeans >:(.
Get a credit card that pays in dollars. That's it.
Ehh,what? It's not about the card,it's about region. I've heard about people using proxy from America, but Valve detected and banned them.
Gabe loves us Brits He Likes the french too. But not as much
funny thing is here in the UK it's about 1.6 USD to the pound. but valve convert it as almost 2 USD. E.G Garrysmod in USD is about $9.99 i think. In GBP valve sell it as £5.99 in reality it £6.45 for more expensive games like Mass effect (which is about $60) it's sold as 29.99 but the real price is more like £38 [editline]10:00AM[/editline]
Gabe loves us Brits He Likes the french too. But not as much
Gabe has a heart so big it's affected his overall body shape.

So this may be unfair, but it's not a special occasion where there is one store having higher prices then local stores. Besides, most of the games on steam are even cheaper then when you would buy it at the store. So instead of bitching about prices you should be grateful for, praise steam for delivering games.
You obviously don't know what are you takling about, look at these prices: 100 dinar = 1 euro. Orange Box on Steam = 23 euros = 2300 dinars ; 23 dollars = 1449 dinars Call of Duty MW2 on Steam = 60 euros = 6000 dinars ; 60 dollars = 3780 dinars Mass Effect 2 on Steam = 50 euros = 5000 dinars ; 30 dollars = 3150 dinars So what they mean to tell me that retail copy of Orange Box is cheaper in retail store than on their official website. tl;dr = Retail copies are cheaper than digital ones. Shouldn't it be other way around? Get your facts straight, don't try redeeming yourself. Plus this is from country that is slowly recovering from huge debts and wars, imagine in other countries prices. But in Eastern Europe, sadly, piracy is dominating.

Besides, this is how economics works so deal with it. I was pretty pissed when I found out I couldn't pay with dollars anymore, but still people fail to see that it's not steam but the developers that put up those prices. I don't even get why people bitch about it anymore anyway. We know that we pay more already. Everybody is done bitching about it and then this thread pops up 3 years after they made the currency change.
Just stop posting and leave thread. If you want to give more money for same game which guy from other side of the world pays 1/3 less, feel free to do it.
Just stop posting and leave thread. Steam is cheaper for me.
I think you two are talking around eachother.
Then why don't you just but them from the store if it's cheaper, you don't have to use steam. Steam is cheaper for me.
You really are retarded. IT DOES NOT MATHER IF IT'S CHEAP OR NOT,THE POINT IS AMERICANS PAY LESS THAN EUROPEANS FOR SAME THING. Some people have works, and don't have mom's credit card to buy games. I actually use my dads, because I can't have one with 16 years, but I have job.

And if you are bitching about the prices, bitch at the developers who set the prices instead of putting the blame on steam.

GET A JOB.

And the moral of the story: Never buy Steam games except during promotional prices.
