The Lost and Damned - No in game dialog, and no mission progression

I have a problem - when I play TLAD on the pc, there is absolutely no in game dialog.
The cutscenes work fine, but in game you can't hear anyone speak.
And after I beat the second mission, after killing
the bikers, the game doesn't progress. No call from Billy, no anything. It doesn't freeze, but it doesn't progress. Any help?

I presume you are playing a legal copy, for if the copy is not legal, the copy may be buggy.

Please refrain from playing illegal copies, but if you aren't playing an illegal copy, I'd recommend reinstalling, just like everyone else said.
