• What do you look for in a FPS?

This is partly curiosity, partly a survey, partly an interest inquisition, etc. What are some key features you look for when going into an FPS? And as a bonus, what are some things you'd like to SEE in an FPS? What's fun, what's annoying, what works, what doesn't, etc. [highlight](User was banned for this post ("Don't make "post your" threads. If it's trying to be realistic be realistic, if it's trying to be an arcade shooter be an arcade shooter. Don't try and join them together.
iron sights, cover system, quick grenade, melee button, controller support, all the latest guns and attachments, military talk like oscar mike, quick time events, noscoping, quickscoping, pronediving, perks, killstreaks [editline]13th April 2011[/editline] the perfect game
The ICES Method: Interactivity means lots of individual things to pick up and move about, it also means interactive computers and keypads or even lock minigames. Customisation means you can change your character to however you want, you can modify weapons to adjust to a strategy of your choice, it also means you can redesign areas of a level. Exploration means secrets, hidden Easter eggs, bonuses for exploration generally improve gameplay. Story needs to involve the player to make them feel part of the game and more immersed. A plot needs to be dynamic allowing the players actions to affect it. [editline]13th April 2011[/editline] Games like Fallout 3 and Deus Ex are good examples of ICES.
Pretty much what JJ webby said. I don't mind playing Halo, but I cannot stand Call of Duty. Personally for me, the only FPS's that grab my attention these days are realistic tactical shooters. ArmA 2, Red Orchestra etc. I'd still like to see a revamped version of Raven Shield. And by revamped, I do NOT mean shit like cover systems and regenerating health. To this day, I'm yet to see a better realistic CQB focused game like Raven Shield. SWAT 4 was good, but not nearly as good as RVS. I'd also like to see another SWAT game while I'm at it. Except instead of trying to appeal to both crowds, I'd like them to go back to their tactical simulator roots as they did in SWAT 3.
