My friend doesn't wanna pay for any games, only if "it's cool and less than 50kr ($10)" I'm trying to convince him into getting CS:S, but he doesn't wanna buy it cause it's 70kr ($15 or so) and "Why pay for something you can get for free?" :sigh: So how do I convince him from being so cheap, into supporting the programmers who gives us these great gaming experiences?
The only games he'd want is the $10 ones next to the real video games on a shelf. Have fun with his arcade games
I used to only play free games, tell him to get Steam and keep looking at the deals. Eventually he'll realize that most free games get boring fast and can't be compared to normal games.
contact his ISP and let him know what he's up to.
I have a friend like him sort of, he buys some games but fails to pirate all the others for his xbawx. I told him to have fun when he gets viruses and arrested, he tries to pirate good games too like Mass Effect and Fallout 3 and Oblivion and stuff. So, I simply ignore him and let him continue, trying to get him to stop didn't work and I am a willing witness to testifie against him.

http://www.g2play.net/store/Half-Life-2-The-Orange-Box-UNCUT-Steam-Key.html The orange box is €9 on g2play right now, now that we're speaking of great deals. He said he would "concider" getting it, as it's 66kr (a whole 15kr ($3) more than what he's used to)
contact his ISP and let him know what he's up to.
Don't do this. Show him steam.
why is he so cheap?

[editline]11:27PM[/editline] And you're a douche.
contact his ISP and let him know what he's up to.
Here in scandinavia, nobody cares about piracy. They only blocked thepiratebay here in denmark because some american man in a black suit came up to the danish court and said "We'll let you live if you do exactly what we say" Turned out later he was from the RIAA, and then it was too late to pull the order back.
Convince hi mto buy Big Rigs, then when he finds out how shit it is, tell him he gets what he pays for.
Don't do this. Show him steam.
Did, and he doesn't like "installing useless software on his computer"
Convince hi mto buy Big Rigs, then when he finds out how shit it is, tell him he gets what he pays for.
I though big rigs was like $20?
Actually, it's selling nowhere now near enough
Did, and he doesn't like "installing useless software on his computer"
Does he have a job? I remember when I was younger and didn't have any money, I just downloaded everything. Much easier to just buy most games though, and that's why when I finally was old enough to get a job, I bought everything (after downloading games I wasn't sure about to try them out, like Mass Effect... which was so good I bought it). This is why DRM pisses me off: it's easier to play a pirated copy of a game without DRM than the purchased version with it... so I don't buy those games, period. Often, DRM afflicted games are shit anyway, they just put it on so they can blame piracy for bad sales. The exception being Assassin's Creed 2... I played it through on X360, and it was actually fantastic. Shame the PC version will be crippled.

(He helps designing things at his mother's job) He's saving up all the money though, for what I don't know. And it's not like you couldn't buy a game and then dump a cd crack on it, I bet we've all done that houndreds of times, but pirating it because it's too expensive is just cheap. I happen to know how hard programming is, and those $40 they're charging for a game is a bargain.
Ehhh, there are times where I've pirated games I've bought on Steam to you know, play them. When there isn't internet connectivity, Valve has my few hundreds of dollars worth of games on a server somewhere, not giving me the little packets to allow me to play them. Well games in Canada are like $70 now, and a lot of them just aren't worth it.
Tight ass cunts.
Punch him i the face and tell him i told you to.
your friend doesn't deserve video games.
Force him play games on Mac :evillaugh:
contact his ISP and let him know what he's up to.
That's a douche thing to do, man.

I too have an old copy of SteamBuster laying around and all of my games downloaded and installed, just incase anything happens I'd still be able to play singleplayer. He won't pay for it because $10 is too expensive for a game. I mean come on, what type of games can you get for $10? Peggle extreme is $15 if I remember right.
World of goo. Fort zombie. 'nuff said. The former is good but the latter? Half decent at best.
Peggle extreme is free afaik.
I dunno where you live, but in this shithole I live in, I would never pay the full price for a game. A game here costs 50ls new(or more if it's on console) and average salary for a GOOD job is something like 500ls. And you still have to pay for your place, food, bills and shit.
What currency are you even talking about, 15kr got be confused with 15k which is alot... But yeah you should try peggle extreme. There was a link somewhere around here to get it free.
Don't forget the hl2 deathmatch
