[QUOTE] Valve has slammed "sh*tty" motion control party-games - and, despite expressing interest in Project Natal, has pledged never to place a 'tiresome' mini-game for the device in Left 4 Dead.

I have a new found respect for Chet.
His point is particularly pertinent in this modern age of shovelware and gimmicky motion controls.
The guy's a pro.
Damn right
Ha. Nice.
Boo bad party games.
Yay good party games?
good i dont want a half life party game were the characters have big heads.

We are all still trying to figure out exactly what it is that Chet does at Valve, but at the very least he occupies office space on the 11th floor as self-proclaimed Mr. Awesome.
It says this on his profile on the Valve site.

Yeah. It was posted there 3 years ago.
Well said Chet. Too many game developers try and shoe-horn in motion control things just because they can (mainly on PS3).
I think 3D would work quite well in Valve games though. Imagine a hunter pouncing on you, or a tank charging at you.

Mario Party 2 was pretty rad.

good point, that was a particularly bad one.
Valve should make a new FPS puzzle game using Natal that has new game elements the way Portal did.
Nah. I'd like to see some of what Torben Sko did (look him up) with Valve games. That's what I'd like Valve to do with Natal and PS "EYE". And don't forget webcams!
There goes Nintendo's VALVe support. So much for their 3'D party idea.

Who could POSSIBLY resist Pin the tail on the Hourse with a spike on its head, also refered to as a unicorn.
I used to like the Mario Party games, even though most of the mingames were shitty, and there were usually at least a couple of people going "Fuck no, not this one again", and it was also completely chance based as to who would win in the end, but, uhh... I still liked them!

The Smash Bros games are great party games.
They are NOT fighters. They are party games.
Chet is smelly but awesome.

Fuck, I want one of those lollipops that look like Narwhal horns now. If you don't get it, look at the other horns in the picture.
Fuck you all, Mario Party 3 was the bomb.

It seems like he doesn't like the Wii games too much
me either
He's not slamming the Wii specifically, just all the bad motion-control mini-game collections on it.
Valve did consider putting Portal on the Wii, after all. I don't think they actually hate the Wii.
Before they were "slamming" joy sticks for keyboards and mice and now they are doing the same for motion controls.
I am no longer interested in Valve's opinions because everyone else follows them like a horde of zombies (no pun intended) without a brain between them.
Well joysticks are only good for flying games anyways
I think the thing is just awkward to use anyway.
