Garrys mod isn't made by value its more of a addon for half life 2 engine, you know that extremely out dated thing that is holding us all back.

Hard to say all of Valve games are quite different.

Probably CS:S for the zombie mod I've had some good times playing it.

For friends I would say Left 4 Dead.
