• Any way to change LODs/level of detail in Dota 2?

I want to know if I can make the in-game and portrait things have a different level of detail in-game. afaik hero animated portrait is double in-game but still not the highest for either of them. Still want to test it out if easily possible.
Yea. r_lod 0. It will enable the high quality models, used in the portraits, on the world map. You could get a massive fps drop if you encounter a horde of phantom lancer illusions though.

I've been using it in TF2 for years, didn't think it'd work for every model in Dota.
Just tested it. Yes it does. You only notice it on some heroes for example dazzle/storm spirit. Storm spirit has on his lod 1 model (used on the map) a static open mouth. If you change it to lod 0, the mouth closes (because it switched to the hd model).
