What is Bolt Action?
Bolt Action is a tabletop strategy game by Warlord Games, taking place during the greatest conflict in world history. Take control of several factions, and fight for dominance of the world.
Hohw 2o Ploy...
Bolt Action plays very similarly to Warhammer 40K, but with some variations. Unlike 40K, Bolt Action doesn't have Commisars and what-not, but does have a wide array of vehicles and command teams.
Where to buy...
You can pick up the models at basically any hobby shop that sells tabletop strategy games. The models normally cost the same as your average Warhammer unit, if not a little more for the metal addons.
That looks awesome.
I doubt you're going to find much of anyone who plays obscure historical miniature wargames on facepunch, even the less obscure ones like this. The 40k thread is barely hanging on by a thread and it's the most popular miniature wargame around, so.
Huh, just like Warhammer, and by that I mean really expensive for plastic.
The quality is nice, but if I wanted something like Warhammer, I'd play Warhammer, and if I wanted a WW2 strategy game, I'd play Flames of War, drive the price down, and it might get pretty popular.
Might buy some stuff for display though.
I have a squad of German Rifleman from this line- very well sculpted and quite detailed. Unfortunately yeh, a matter of finding other wargamers is difficult; but not impossible. I recently found a nearby gaming store that carried a lot of historical lines and holds games pretty frequently.
I ordered mine from TheWarStore, got a decent price and they seem to carry the entire line and books.

Starter kit here for about 80$, has American and German forces as well as the rules and dice presumably. Might get it sometime if I can find a decent group of gamers.
I'm also a fan of Historical Boardgaming, though my local gamestore doesn't stock any of this boltaction stuff. Flames of War is the major ticker around here, it dominates 1/2 the store's shelves.. which puts Warhammer 40k at a measly 4-5 boxes + paints.
These are a pretty big seller in the shop were I work. Flames of War is also pretty popular, as is Warhammer. The rest of the shop is mostly dominated by diorama kits.

Also, I have two armies. First is basic German Wehrmacht in a mid-war scheme, second is Allied, bolsted by Brits mostly, with some American backup, and partisans for urban fighting.
BTW, buy partisans, they are EXTREMELY useful in urban combat situations. They're cheap, they're easy to use, and they're pretty varied.
