[b]The Video Games Ideas thread is the place where we post and discuss facepunchers game concepts, storylines or random thoughts about games we would like to see, but that they do not exist (yet)[/b]. Making the battlefield super hard, dangerous and giving the commander the option to assign squads should at least help to reach some sort of team playing between players. Also, some sort of vehicle/buildings co-op. Also, the abilities of the commander like seeing incoming attacks or mined fields should make the players ask for orders very frequently. (to avoid dictatorship, the commander should be cycled every certain amount of time). I had this idea for a while: "It's hard to be a videogame bad guy" (I am bad at naming ok) is a turn based puzzle game where you play as a generic enemy npc in a generic modern military shooter To win in a level you have to approach the "player" between a certain time period (getting there too fast will result in a "too easy" level failure and getting there too slow would result in a "this game is too hard" failure) Basically it's a labyrinth kind of game where you have to get into the line of sight of a moving exit So yeah it's nothing like a labyrinth game but I hope you get the idea Another idea I had was a turn based platformer but it [URL="http://robotacid.com/flash/7drl/bump.swf"]has already been done[/URL] in the current 7drl contest

I had one. I'd call the game 'Contingency.' It'd be like a city building game, less like Sim City, more like Anno, but the main focus would be on preparing for disasters. It'd be near future, so there'd be room for currently unavailable technologies to use in the game. A campaign would be about the survivors of a cataclysmic event trying to survive in a world trying to kill them, while each level brings them closer to the fabled safe zone. Eave level would have different or a combo of disasters and you'd have to use new tech to overcome them. Multiplayer would work with as many players as possible, and they all have to survive the random disasters that happen at intervals while helping or screwing over each other. An example might be a flood coming, so you have to built barrier walls and drainage system, and move the people into safe zones. But another player might come along, and damage the barrier, or disable the drain, messing up your plan. You might have a zombie plague come in in another game, so you'd have to build armories and mass produce military and law enforcement to arm the people and overcome them while building safe zones where infected people could go to, to be saved. Not the most serious, but would be a lot of fun with friends.
