Well let's see. Since you need a credit card to use PayPals instant transaction feature, I don't really see a point in avoiding giving them your credit card details.
Especially to a company like Microsoft which owns more money than you'll likely make in your entire life and that of your children/grandchildren/great grandchildren.
Everyone else pays via credit card and Microsoft isn't stealing their money.

However, If Microsoft were stealing money through XBox Live, they'd get raped by the media.
If you buy your Subscription though the Xbox, then you'll avoid any Keylogging software, or anything like that your PC could potentially have aswell.

Well, if you use a credit card and buy a year of goldmembership, you won't be able to deactivate auto-renewal without calling their customer support.. And they're of course hard to reach, especially if you're not in the states.
I hate how they automatically assume that you want them to renew your subscription every year, yet it's so fucking hard to get out of their grip.
I'm not sure if it's the same with paypal, but I'd just buy goldmembership in your local store if I were you.
