Which one should I use for gaming etc? I also do a lot of video sfx editing. My only concerns are performance (with my AMD64 x2 Dual Core 2.8Ghz & 9800GTX+) and running old 32bit programs that could kill it... So what shall I go for?
I wouldn't bother with 32bit at all. Besides, if you're doing editing, you'll need alot of memory, and 64bit is the only way to use over 2.8gb of ram.
64 bit.

I prefer 64 bit myself. Using w7 64-bit actually. Also, you might get better help if you'd post in the hardware/software section.

Im using Windows 7 64bit right now, it's great.
I recently switched to Win7 64-bit. It's the best thing I've done this month, that's for sure. I ain't had no problems running any 32-bit game or program yet.
No reason to use 32 unless your computer is really old
No reason to use 32 unless your computer is really old
yea the only reason you shouldn't get a 64 bit OS is if your processor doesn't support it, but that's not the case for you
Alrighty, cheers all, 64bit it is!
64 bit gets you more than 3.5 gigs of ram
64 bit gets you more than 3.5 gigs of ram
4 gigabytes of system memory.
I don't even know why they make 32 bit OS's these days.
Speaking of which...should I buy 16 or 32 bit Windows 95? :)
4 gigabytes of system memory.
it only uses 3.5, you can put 4 gigs in though
I don't even know why they make 32 bit OS's these days.
Mainly for OEM manufacturers and low end systems that don't support 64-Bit.
