I reently bought / installed Oblivion and no matter what graphics I set it to, Whenever I walk anywhere the character will just stop. So I have to keep re-pressing 'W' constantly to walk/run anywhere. I've been to 'can you run it' and all my specs pass recommended and high.
This also happens on 'Fallen Earth' and SW:KOTOR which both have previously run fine in the past.
So I'm wondering if anybody else has had this problem and if so, how did you get around it?

So, what's the problem? That you have to press W to move?
I know I have to obviously press W to move. But it only responds for a while, then I have to constantly repress it every 2-3 seconds
Sounds like a keyboard/input issue.
Do you happen to have any other keyboards laying around?
I guess you can also test it by binding forward to your left mouse button.
Try another keyboard.
...unplug your gamepad...
