I have been playing Dwarf Fortress recently and I love playing adventure mode. What I like the most about it is the combat system. I have never seen combat this detailed and realistic (it's just freakin' text!) but I love it. I also played Liberal Crime Squad, it had detailed combat but not as good as DF.
What I'm looking for is a game/simulation that has the most realistic and detailed combat/wounds system. (Able to attack specific bodyparts, no HP or other "health meter", realistic wounds.)
This "dream game" may not exist, but I hope someone finds something cool.
Well Fallout 3 is the only game I know of where you can attack specific bodyparts but Fallout 3 is more of a RPG but then again it could be Adventure cause well, your exploring :v:.
It doesn't have to be an adventure game...it just has to have detailed combat (body parts damaged, eyes ripped out, broken bones, bleeding, etc.).
And I already own Fallout 3 :D

What does that have to do with detailed combat?

Thanks.

Counter Strike Source (Nah I'm kidding.)
Arma 2 is pretty detailed, so is Operation Flashoint DR
If you can stomach complex wargames, you'll like the Steel Panthers and Combat Mission series. Both are turn-based strategy games, but they all address the intricacies, problems and the complexity of the second half of 20th century warfare. Infantry will be suppressed if heavy fire is brought against them, you can use artillery to fire smoke rounds to create a flanking wall, tanks will have different thicknesses of armor depending on location and angle and there's even modeling of active protection systems. Hell, Steel Panthers MBT has around 92 different countries to dick around as from Canada to Zimbabwe and their military force selection varies on the time period.
Red Orchestra?
What about the solider of fortune series, they have pretty good gore systems.
Killing floor? The damage feels realistic.
Men of War had a very detailed tank battle system where the caliber of round, angle of penetration, distance of shot, and thickness of armor are all taken into account.
Oh yeah men of war is awesome with tanks and vehicles.
There must be something wrong with me because Ive played every game you guys have mentioned. Except for Steel Panthers.
IVAN or Incursion if you don't mind roguelikes.
Fallout 3 sucks (well I love it but I have to be solitary), Fallout 2 has a much better hit system.
IVAN has a bodypart system. Check it out.
Dark Messiah: Might and Magic

I hope you're joking.
Aurora.
The original Ghost Recon has some pretty realistic combat.
Mechwarrior, any of them
You might want to try out Fallout 1 and 2 as well as Operation Flashpoint and ArmA 1 and 2
Evil Island has targetable body parts.
