Portal 2 gets a 94/100 and an Editor’s Choice from PC Gamer

Yes, I am aware that this is a few hours late, but as far as I see it, it's news.
We’ve played and reviewed Portal 2 and awarded it 94 and an Editor’s Choice award. The review appears in the latest issue of PC Gamer US, and the June issue of PC Gamer UK, on-sale May 11.
Why did it get that score and the prestigious award? We described it as “hilariously well-written and acted”, “full of thrilling showcase moments” and “some of the most social gaming you’ll have.” We basically think it’s outstanding.
Check the site when Portal 2 is released for our full review, catch up on the Potato Sack ARG, or read our most recent preview for more.
Seems pretty good considering the game isn't even officially released yet, though I have to say I expected an even higher score. See post #17 and #18 for reference.
Jesus christ that's a high score. Can't wait to see what MC gives it
94 is pretty damn high.
that's like one of the highest they give out (besides HL2's 98)
Wow. As good as Half-Life 2? I am SO fucking hyped, shit.
did anyone honestly expect less then 90?
Not so impressed, iam expecting at least 96 for it, but thats for Metacritic.
Anything less and I would have been disappointed, frankly.
Would have been 100/100 if Valve agreed to pay them for the review.

But of course.
(Same as Dragon Age II :v:)
I am a bit annoyed that all the best games get 9/10 for example. What does it take for 10/10?

A game with no flaws, which there isn't one.

Or have Call of Duty somewhere in your name.
I mean like how the hell do they know its 9/10?

Ever heard of a review copy?
I can see IGN's review already.
8.5/10
+Innovative gameplay
+Beautiful story
-Not Call of Duty
Watching Portal 2 videos, wasn't really expecting anything under 100.
I hope it's better than its predecessor. I never got around to beating the first one and can't bear replaying it.

Kinda funny it got the same score as Dragon Age 2 :)
I'm expecting something between 93 and 97 for Metacritic seriously

Wow, you are really stupid.
Jesus, that's a high score. Really can't wait, now!
I have a gut feeling IGN will give it a 9.5, citing short lasting appeal or some such.
I sure love the huge spoiler that PC gamer put on their blog post. Stay classy PC gamer
glad i preordered this shit
Seems kind of low, even after Chet said it was their best game.

Oh dear I dislike a game by Valve, of all people.
