If you buy the PS3/360 version, you get a $20 gift card(Still costs $55 for them).
No one posted this to my knowledge so here it is:

Megathread.
And the PC version is on sale for 35 bucks. So if anyone has yet to preorder Portal 2, I recommend Amazon for all versions.
Same price in the uk :/
Best buy You get it for 35, 45$ but with no gift card
When you get the $20 credit off Amazon, you could actually use it to buy the Orange Box for PC on there (which is about $20) which is kind of like the preorder deal on Steam where you get Portal for free, except you're getting Portal along with 4 more (free, if you will) awesome games. (hl2 series and tf2)
Well since i live in Australia, the postage price would make it alot worse.
It may be cheaper but it will take longer then the release on Tuesday to arrive, but I guess cheaper is better
I still think that's disgustingly expensive for how long the game Valve said it would be, but cool, I'll tell some friends.
It's only $5 less for me, since I got a two pack. Plus, Steam means no paying for shipping if I want it within a week of when it comes out.

What? The game is most likely going to be longer than HL2.

Yes, because you've beaten both campaigns and all challenge levels already, so you know exactly how long it is, right?
Meh, not worth the annoyance of getting a refund on steam.
And I literally debated with myself for 20 minutes before deciding to cancel my Amazon order to have it on Steam last night.
Ah well.
Yeah, I hate having to debate between places to buy a game because each place has a different pre-order bonus. I eventually settled on GameStop mere days ago for the custom bot skins and then suddenly Steam Portal 2 owners are getting a Companion Cube Pin in TF2 and Potato Sack owners (which includes me) are getting custom bot skins, which renders my GameStop skin redundant. About a single day before all this was announced, I went into GameStop and paid off the entire pre-order. God damn it. :argh:
And now Steam Portal 2 is getting launched early, so it's both cheaper and earlier than my GameStop copy. (Another reason I had pre-ordered at GameStop was so I could get it earlier than Steam's 7 AM PST at midnight, and in order to play at midnight I got the PS3 version, making it more expensive. Entire plan ruined.)

Agreed. I originally planned on buying it on gamestop, then on steam, then on amazon, then back on steam, then best buy, then amazon then steam. Now I'm debating between steam or amazon. Thinking steam because we might get the game released early. Then again, I can't help with the cpus because I don't have the potato pack. I don't think even the president ever had such a difficult decision.

It's as long if not longer than HL2
Judging by the amount of levels, that is
I'm going to keep my amazon preorder unless Portal 2 gets release at least a day early. A few hours early is pointless since I will be at school.

Actually, at the rate we're going (and provided that each game gives the time time bonus), the projected Portal 2 early release is about one day. http://www.gamingmasters.co.uk/portal/
I bought it cheaper in Denmark at Amazon.co.uk. But i guess its only cheaper for Europeans

I wanted to buy it at gamestop, but then i figured out i didnt wanna pay 20 more bucks for a skin.
If you buy Portal 2 from Amazon do you have to wait for the game to be delivered or do they give you a code or something so you can play it on Steam when it's released?

If I recall we have to have every game bar to be filled for that to happen and seeing as Killingfloor requires more users, that's not going to happen.

They deliver it on the release day and should reach you on the same day. Says at the latest 7:00 pm on that release day.

Release day shipping is $1.
I just preordered it off Amazon a minute ago, free shipping but 5-8 business days. This is going to be one long week.

I say Amazon. For me, $36 on Amazon and getting it release day > $45 on Steam with free Portal and a possible Early Release

Release day shipping is $1 extra. Worth it.

You can cancel preorders from Gamestop at any time, even after you've paid the whole thing off. At least if you've paid in cash.
I found this fact useful when I needed the exact amount that MY full preorder of Portal 2 cost for an emergency.
But now I have no Portal 2 preorder. :frown:
Where are you getting a dollar extra for release day shipping? I tried next day shipping and they tried to add $10.
Thanks for the heads up. Pre-ordered.
I honestly don't care if my order arrives a few days late. The important thing is that I get my game and save money.
Here is my Portal 2 preorder on Amazon.

As you can see, the extra $.99 added to the price is for the release date shipping. And I also get:

Where do you live?

It may be because I ordered it for the PC and you got it for the 360.
