Does anyone remember Sin Episodes: Emergence? Originally it was planned to be released in nine episodes, but only the first one made it to the market. It was cancelled due to Ritual Games being sold to MumboJumbo. I just tried it lately and I have to say it's a shame it got cancelled. I mean just look at it: It had awesome gameplay: Hot bitches: Even promotional pictures were awesome: They also made an amazing theme for the game: And here's a trailer, if anyone didn't see it yet: I recommend you to somehow get this game and play through it.
I really liked this game. I never got around to finishing it (god damn port level), but I probably should. Showed some brilliant stuff on Source for its time: interactivity with almost anything (heck, you could dial people on the payphones) and the car rides across a full city.
Wait, they removed it from Steam? I didn't even know games got removed from Steam at all. You can't, like, still install it via App ID or something? :frown:
Played this a while back, but I never got much into it. I thought it was a little boring and the multiplayer was beyond terrible.

It's still on Steam. All three of them are, actually: the original, multiplayer for the original, and the Source one. I agree, it's awesome. :ninja:
I forgot to add the amazing theme they did for the game. This game would be perfect, if they continued it.
The respawning enemies were really annoying, but otherwise it was alright, felt a lot like a high quality mod though.
It is on Steam, I just downloaded it today. Also yes, this game is awesome and contains some great, 90's esque FPS gameplay.
I enjoy the content in Garry's Mod more than I enjoy playing the game, but it's still pretty good.
Some experienced modders, scripters and mappers should unite and finish this.
I used to found the trailer freakin' amazing back in the day.It all looked so realistic and nicely made. Truly wish it was finished.
OP is misinformed. SiN: Episodes wasn't cancelled. Ritual Entertainment was bought up and merged with MumboJumbo. MumboJumbo directed the Ritual team to develop casual games, some of the original team had left Ritual prior to the purchase, others after. Currently only one of the original team remains. SiN: Episodes has been placed on hiatus, until MumboJumbo decide to develop in this niché of gaming. They currently own the rights to SiN: Episodes. SiN: Episodes is still highly moddable, it can be mapped for, modeled, scripted and edited in many ways, it just lacks modifiable code.
Mumbo Jumbo is only doing casual games, so I don't ever see them doing a sequel to SiN.
Sucks dick that most new video cards can't play the original SiN because of some driver problem. ATI has a fix but nVidia doesn't.
holy shit the theme is indeed awesome
MumboJumbo should rot in hell. Really, dissing such potential for casual games should be a crime. [editline]11th April 2011[/editline] Btw Bianca Beauchamp is hot as fuck.
still got my retail copy right by me. I was excited for the rest of the episodes....:sigh:
I like the look of Jessica Cannon in the picture the music theme uses better than the actual one in the game. In the picture, she looks like a cute, sexy, redheaded badass. The one in-game isn't attractive at all in my opinion and is quite ugly actually. I blame the source engine.
still got my retail copy right by me. I was excited for the rest of the episodes....:sigh:
Same. I remember beating it back in 2006 and saying to myself "That was an awesome game. Can't wait until the other episodes come out!". It's sad that it never happened. I hope the series does get rebooted some time in the distant future.
holy shit it's that amazing huge game i remember from years ago it was so amazing to watch this scene with paper towel and exploding stuff and that jetpack @ the end wheeeeeeezz
It was a fun game, yes.
Isn't there a nude mod for this particular scene? :v:

Being cancelled? It was cancelled a long-ass time ago.
I remember buying this when I couldn't find hl2ep1 from a store. I'm happy I did, re-installing now on Steam thanks to this thread. :)
No wonder barely any girls play FPS's
No wonder barely any girls play FPS's
I think that's an acceptable downside all things considered.
Most of my time playing this was spent in generic industrial warehouses that I've played in a million other games. Which caused me to lose interest and stop playing. Not a fan.
What is it even about?
ass
