OK, so I was bored, and decided to mess with random games. I'm a Lemony Snicket fan, so I tried my hand at tinerking with ASoUE, which runs on Unreal 2.0. Managed to import edited textures to it using UnrealEd, although my current labour of love is getting custom models to work, as I'm not sure on rigging UT models yet: And yeah, I was also into thinking of having Violet and Klaus ragdolled for Gmod, too. :p
Are you going to make it at all similar to the shitty game? Also, that looks nice, I hope you give us updates on your progress.
Ugh. I thought this game was terrible. Usually when a game is based off of a movie, it is terrible.
Loved the movie tho

I do need some more info on rigging Unreal Tournament models, or someone who can do the dirty work, though.
Ugh. I thought this game was terrible. 'Events was a rushed 650MB of a game, a bit glitchy and too short, although it was nice enough to pass the time. The books were waaay better, as some hardcore fans felt that Emily Browning's stint as Violet was a bit butchered.
I had no idea there even was a game... Looks cool anyway, nice work. EDIT: I meant your custom stuff looks cool, not the game.
I might post DFF models of Violet, Klaus and Olaf at the Gmod models section, too, since I have the game, and wanted them in Gmod.
Loved the movie tho
Books are way better.
The books were cool.. until the last one. What a stupid ending. It's as if the series was going nowhere the whole time.
The books were cool.. until the last one. What a stupid ending. It's as if the series was going nowhere the whole time.
It left me wondering whether Violet ended up dead, or if they spent the rest of their lives as VFD agents instead.
The ending didn't explain anything like what the big question mark ship was, or if any of there parents are alive.
The ending didn't explain anything like what the big question mark ship was, or if any of there parents are alive.
And there were a mother lode of theories about it. UPDATE: I just posted a ragdoll/NPC request regarding the orphans.
They never mentioned what was inside the sugar bowl, either.
it's based off a book you tool
It's a game based off a movie based off a book. IE Harry Potter stuff too
They never mentioned what was inside the sugar bowl, either.
Yeah. And oh, I know this might sound silly, but does anyone know how to rig on Unreal 2.x? UPDATE: Here's what I did to a player model of Klaus Baudelaire after searching for an Unreal animation tool, as well as an importer for UE ped/animated models: Might try on doing the same copy-paste thing that I did when I rigged some random characters to GTA.
Replace him with Tommy Vercetti.
[sp]The boat sank.[/sp]
Replace him with Tommy Vercetti.
Sorry for the bump, but yep, did it, albeit with major fail glitches.
The books were pretty good, but the ending was too ambiguous. Though some of the extra, non-main series books like "The Beatrice Letters" explained some things. Also, custom work looks good.
I would've told you guys where to get the game, but since I don't want to be permabanned due to posting warez, there's a freely downloadable demo of which we can experiment with, if you don't mind.
Even checkers can be fun when you have plasmids.
Even checkers can be fun when you have plasmids.
lol yeah.
The Series of Unfortunate Events books are the Citizen Kane of books.
The Series of Unfortunate Events books are the Citizen Kane of books.
Yep, pretty much so, although I think the overall tone reminded me somewhat of GTA IV. Stylistically, it seems to be like a juvenile Fallout.
I might post DFF models of Violet, Klaus and Olaf at the Gmod models section, too, since I have the game, and wanted them in Gmod.
Wait, DFF? Haha, DFF is a format from the older GTA game engines, which was also used in Manhunt. Was this game made by Rockstar?
Wait, DFF? Haha, DFF is a format from the older GTA game engines, which was also used in Manhunt. Was this game made by Rockstar?
No, it was developed by KnowWonder using unreal 2.x. The reason why the Baudelaire ped models were in DFF is because I converted them to GTA using 3D Ripper DX and a bunch of Max scripts.
Loved the movie tho
The movie was the worst shit ever... They changed the complete story, the ending and everything else, it wasn't even that unfortunate... The books however, is great!
Who is the guy that has hair made in the shape of a ghost on the back of his head?
Who is the guy that has hair made in the shape of a ghost on the back of his head?
You mean that dude wearing a blue sweater? That's Klaus Baudelaire. @Fhux - Yeah, they butchered it quite significantly.
