Petitioning DICE and EA to implement an offline map preview mode in BF:BC2
A serious problem I've noticed, both in the first Bad Company and now in Bad Company 2, is the number of players who stay at their respective spawn points for much of the game on large maps, waiting for the helicopters or UAV drones to spawn. Let's face it. Aerial vehicles are a LOT of fun to fly (even if most people can't fly them well at all).
The new destruction engine is also a lot of fun to play with.
Electronic Arts, DICE, you've done an amazing job with Bad Company 2. It definitely lived up to my expectations, and your dedicated servers aren't as rickety as those in the first instalment of the series.
However, there's one feature that I'm sure the community would very much like to see.
In a free patch or even a DLC, we'd very much appreciate it if you added an offline feature that allowed players to preview each of the multiplayer maps on their own, (Keeping their unlocks intact, of course). That way we could play around with the destruction, aircraft and vehicles for a while, get it out of our systems, and actually play to WIN when we took the fight online.
Please, community. Take the time to vote on this poll, and give me your input so this stays on the front page. If the numbers are in our favor, There's a chance that the developers will implement this feature.

All of you who play Battlefield: Bad Company 2, whether on your PC or a console, must have an EA account (You can use your XBL account in its stead)
If you like the idea, please take the time to log in and vote. I think that feature really does need to be implemented.
I'd rather have some sort of training mode that has all the vehicles so I can learn how to fly a helicopter.

Same thing, isn't it? Besides, flying the helicopter on the Xbox 360 is unbelieveably easy. Right stick for pitch and yaw, left stick for roll. Triggers for altitude, bumpers for weapons.
Wow, a petition that isn't dumb as shit, and only request something simple, Probably turn it into a private match and i'd sign.
I support this on PC.
so all you're really asking for is like what the other Battlefields had with certain maps allowing bot play?
not a bad idea really. would be nice since I don't think going through the singleplayer a million times would be as fun after a while, even though it was great.
I support this on PC.
My PC sucks. I support it for both PC and consoles.

This man has a brain, he wishes it for both consoles.
I support this on PC.
Way to appear like an ass. Seriously though, why only on the PC?

cuz PC had battlefield first! :downs:
As true as that is, Xbox players have just as much playing right as PC gamers. So I say play!
yeah, it would've been nice if BC1 had the bot mode.

because then I could kill them if they took the artillery or the helicopters and not have 12 years olds yell at me :ohdear:
I played the beta and did surprisingly well with the Engineer class. Of course I had 10 year olds yelling at me until my ears bled but it was well worth it. I almost felt as if I was exploiting the game in some way because it felt so natural. Eventually the demo was cancelled so now I wait patiently as I get my last payment and BC2 along with it.
I just blow shit up, sometimes I don't think I'm playing the game right...
I support it, but I doubt this will convince the 12-year olds to not camp and wait for the aerial vehicles.
anytime I see/hear some say "I WANT HELICOPTER!!! SAVE IT FOR ME!!!" I hunt them down and kill them. then say "stfu plz"
I'm a terrible person.
I remember this asshole that always did what 1nfiniteseed said. Me and my squad always sat in the bushes and waited for him to get in his beloved helicopter, then we rigged it with explosives and waited for him to take off then we detonated him. If we couldn't do that we just RPG'd him.
I love killing people like that

It would fun to do with bots, but then I won't be able to see/hear them rage in anger and frustration...
I love killing people like that
Fuck, man. I did that all the way from 1942 I constantly waited to kill people right when they sit and wait for their precious vehicle.
rigging the planes  so much fun to watch them start to take off then BOOM!!!
[editline]07:17PM[/editline]
now I want bots so I can mess with them.
I did that with suicide bombers, I rigged the front with c4s so their point of impact had more "oomph" than a normal suicide bombing.
the BF2 humvees were so fun to rig when the bots crowded at control points.
I'd rather have better filter options that also remember what settings you used

Cause we're the cool kids who's teams end up containing 70% snipers.
I'm not asking for bot play. Just an empty, explorable map with all the associated vehicles.

no, that's dumb.
no, that's dumb.
No, it isn't. We'd still get to destroy buildings and blow shit up to our hearts' content, while practising with flying vehicles and testing out weapon damage on various objects. In addition, an empty map preview will be MUCH easier to implement than bots.
Nah they're working on fucking up BFH even more. They Don't have time.
