The first in the series, started out as an arena game, but at the last moment they decided to make an RPG instead, forming the series we all know and love.

The second in the series, was a bit better and helped the series become more popular.

Described by many as the best in the series, featured things like dice-roll combat, large sand-walking bugs, aggravating bird monsters, and some guy named Vivec who can control reality with CHIM!

The fourth, featuring psychic shouty guards, potato faces, and a Daedric god that wants to break out of Oblivion and take over the world. Like any competent Daedric god wants to do. Also features a less hardcore RPG experience, with enough depth to provide fun gameplay for any class, assassin, warrior, mage, etc.

Also has both the best and worst DLCs in the series, Horse armor ($5 for horse armor) and Shivering isles, which featured an entire new landmass, Wabbajacks, talking grapefruits, and Sheo-freakin'-gorath.

The newest in the series, where some of the RPG elements are dumbed down or removed entirely, but is still in-depth enough to appeal to most RPG fans; also features updated graphics, Dragons, Giants, and magic shouty words that kill people.

fight vampires and shit. Or be a vampire and shit. Either way, some kickass armor in this one, plus some crossbows and armored trolls that follow you around.

You make a house and adopt some kids. Just get a mod off the steam workshop.

[B][U]Dragonborn[/U][/B]

You go to Solstheim to do some shit. Don't know much about this one except that it brings back a lot of stuff from morrowind.

Redguard is the first (and probably only) game in the spinoff series called The Elder Scrolls Adventures. Unlike the main sequence of Elder Scrolls role-playing games, Redguard is designed as an action-adventure game. The player character is Cyrus, a Redguard mercenary, who returns to his native Stros M'Kai in search of his missing sister, Iszara.

Battlespire is the first (and probably only) game in the spinoff series called An Elder Scrolls Legend. It was originally conceived as an expansion to Daggerfall, but evolved into a standalone game. The action takes place within a single multi-level dungeon, the Battlespire, where the player is sent to investigate some unusual events. It also features a multiplayer option.

Modding varies from game to game. It is practically non existant in both Arena and Daggerfall. In order to make mods.

For Morrowind you'll need the construction kit which can be found on your disc copy of Morrowind. Note: there is a version on the nexus for the Steam copy of Morrowind.

[B]UESP.net[/B] is a great source of information on all games. Please check it before asking about any bugs you may be having in game. UESP has information and methods to solve bugs in every quest for practically every TES game. It is also a veritable resource for modding. It's your go to place for in game needs.

[B]The Imperial Libary[/B] is where you'll want to go if you want any info on TES lore. It has literally every book ever written in TES as well as many other snippets.
