A Half life 2 Horror modification... Crypt... 2013, Mission; Classified. You have recieved no information of why you are going to a remote military base in Antarctica. Only that you and your squad are carrying a bomb to demolish it. When your helicopter stalls due to an EMP field surrounding the base you wake up hours later in a daze, half your team is missing the rest is dead. You realize that the base Snowfield is your only hope of shelter so you trudge through the snow to get to it. Once inside the farther you go the stench of rotting flesh begins to fill your nose, you stumble across several of your teams bodies, and then you realize that you are trapped in a Hybrid Nest of Mutants, alone, in the dark... In 1963 the Soviet Union invented the HTM-4 Biological Missle that highly enhanced agression and dulled the average human senses. The only glimmer of hope is when you find a recorded tape from 30 years ago saying that a man has locked himself in the Bio Labs, making your way down there is half the challenge, and thats if he's still alive... Crypt is a Half life 2 Shock and Phycological horror mod that is specificly designed to slowly lead you to a mental state of paranoia. Chapter Names Arctic Insertion Completed 100% Maneum Downs Completed 88% Biohazard Penetration Completed 2.5% In Hospitable Territory Completed 0% HotFoot Completed 0% www.moddb.com/mods/crypt1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMoBGg6mV1E
Looks nice.
I cant wait for it to come out.
Shit, crapped my pants in the teaser trailer 2. Also, lol. Rat ear.
"In 1963 the Soviet Union invented the HTM-4 Biological Missle that highly enhanced agression and dulled the average human senses. When your helicopter goes down due to a EMP Field surrounding the base you have only one option, go into the base Snowfield, or perish in the icy tundra." thats kinda dopey
can't satisfy everyone i suppose :)
I just hope this isn't going to be another Korsakovia >:( It looks great btw, I love the look of it so far, reminds me of Paranoia.
i dont like how youre basing your concept, at least in the 2nd trailer, on the fact that theyre growing body parts on rats that is also dopey i think
It was true though, it happened at one point, that is a real picture. Besides, it seems you just think all genetic horror is dopey anyway :geno:
i know its a real picture, im just saying that the concept that the army is growing humans because theyre growing replacement ears isnt very logical
Perfectly logical, seeing if the genes can mix by trying to splice in a single body part, if it worked then maybe the whole would too?
Slowly designed to lead to paranoia or designed to slowly lead to paranoia?
That trailer is a fucking ear rape.
i dont like how youre basing your concept, at least in the 2nd trailer, on the fact that theyre growing body parts on rats that is also dopey i think
Well if you stay outside in the Arctic tundra your going to freeze to death... where else are you going to go? its not like you can escape if there is an emp field around the base. Dopey? more like unfortunuate. But if you dont want to play the game because of the line no one is making you. :)
As long as i fight zombies, im good :)
I don't think there's such a thing as an EMP field If there was, wouldn't the base have no electricity?
It could work, if the emitters of said field were specialized and the field only projected outwards.
But EMP stands for "pulse"--a pulse is a one-off thing, you can't emit a field of pulse.
Technically you could say it's an EM-field. But no such thing as an EMP field.
You could constantly every 5 seconds? That work?
Well given under typical circumstances, that EMP's are typically emitted from nuclear reactions in low orbit, that would require a nuclear stockpile rivaling that of Iraq.
Yeah, EMF sounds good, though if you wanted to keep EMP you could get away with it, assuming the buildings housing electronics had special protection. And this is in the future where there is an infinite source of nuclear energy like Lankist said.
You'd also have to develop some kind of shielding to keep them from damaging the base, since an EMP travels outward in all directions. Not to mention a way of keeping the EMP from damaging whatever device was devised to deliver it.

Maybe they developed that technology in an Antarctic base surrounded by killer ear-rats.
Set up a perimeter of small EMP pulsers around the base, and shut them off when you require deliveries. That makes a bit more sense.
Set up a perimeter of small EMP pulsers around the base, and shut them off when you require deliveries. That makes a bit more sense.
They only activate when a vehicle or plane comes in without clearance, and yes the equipment does infact have protection against the EMP.
Spelling errors on the ModDB page frightened me.
Spelling errors on the ModDB page frightened me.
Can you point them out to me i would gratefully fix them :D
looks nice :v:
