does anyone have more information on what the plots gonna be, or more importantly if they're just re-using their engine
They use cryengine 3. Jeez google a bit.
It will be the best tech demo of this generation

Actually the graphics will be worse, so that I can run on consoles too. Long story short - It's going to look worse than Crysis 1/Warhead.

Yeah, the graphics will be worse- on the goddamn consoles, not pc
Only the console ones look worse. The PC engine is much better. They already have tech demos of the engine on YouTube.

Having upgraded from a PC that had roughly the power of the xbox, I'll say that that is damn impressive.

No. The consoles automatically & in real time dumb it down so the PC gets the best quality.
Fucking wankers.
Well, thanks for correcting me. You can pull the sticks from your asses now.

why not insert them further up?
With CE3 any POS computer can run it now. Which will take all the fun out of say "Can it run Crysis?"
Pos?
piece of shit

I saw the new suit design for Crysis 2, and it looks horrible.

God damn it. I made that video to compare the console version of CryEngine 3 to CryEngine 2. Not what the PC version of CE3 will look like. CE3 on PC looks amazing.
(oops, I should read the rest of the thread before posting :v:)
I remeber seeing a Tech demo of the engine differences over platforms. There is very little notocable difference unless you are a fucking OCD graphics whore. DX11 CE3 looked better than the PS3 (which had the best shadowing in the demo I think) and the 360 (which had roughly the same looks as the PS3) by a small margin. Crytek are doing whatever they can to make the PC version superior, but at the same time they aren't fucking the consoles over. With everything being done real time, that is quite an achievement on the consoles.
Consoles can do far more than you lot give them credit for, all it takes is a developer willing to put the effort in.
You know all this tech talk of "Can it run Crysis?" over the years and I haven't ever been bothered to actually find out what it is about.
What's the plot?
Crysis is a game where you play as this bratty spoilt American Super Soldier who's best friend is a British Scum bag called Jason Statham. Your parachute fails and you have to use a Turtle as a weapon to smash in Korean Heads. Along the way some odd things happened and you find some of your squad mates killed in the fashion of the Predator Movies.
Then the Koreans get replaced by some annoying Aliens that require Nuclear bombs to destroy. Then you're on a boat motherfuck look at me, then you blow up a big huge alien and then the island gets hit with a Nuclear Bomb but then the sphere gets bigger. Then your commander is still alive and screaming for food and he's raping aliens. Then your English bald friend picks you up in a helicopter with some lady with you. Then you fly off and the credits roll.
But the game causes my computer to blue screen whenever the boat you were on explodes due to it's nukes going off.

Pretty much this.
Combined with the possibility to be an amazingly fun game if you don't play it like any other shooter and play it like it was meant to be played.
Thought I may as well use this thread. Screenshots and renders.

omg
Even though I can play the regular Crysis on Very High with a very smooth framerate, I'll probably have to run this on medium to even reach 30 FPS. :saddowns:
Yay, shit game with intense graphics.
I agree that it will be harder to run, but hopefully they will optimize it like they did on Crysis Warhead?

Crysis 1 was a good game. You're just butthurt because you had to run it on low.
I enjoyed Crysis 1 on my bro's comp although he couldn't run on highest, I thought it was a cool game, nice audio too.
I can run it maxed out fool.
So can I :v:
