It isn't out on pc and I wouldn't pre order that crippled piece of poop.
Can't wait for this gonna be soooo fun!
Still not out? What.
Don't buy it. The DRM on it is beyond shit.
You have to be online permanently to keep communication with their master server to even play single player. If your connection, or even theirs, just as much hiccups you're kicked out of your single player game and all your progress is lost back to an autosave.
Fun huh?
The game was only meh, but with the rediculous DRM. It just makes it fine Italian shit.
Also, three new maps for the PC exclusive multiplayer.
Take_Opal did you just say multiplayer? I'm pretty sure the STEAM-page just says Single-Player.

He says Ubisoft's new shitty DRM that requires total connection to internet always permanently. If you get a quick internet crash you can start over again.
Oh, right. Massively Singleplayer Online game.

- Enjoy a vast world which only YOU can discover.
- Battle fearsome enemies and share the awesome loot with no one.
- Chat with no one through our non-existant revolutionary voice system.
- Get an all exclusive DRM package which only paying customers can get!
Really, when will they learn that these ridiculous anti-piracy measures make people more determined to pirate it.

Now they just have to add the monthly fee and we're all set.

if that happens, i'm siding with the Big J.T. (y'know, the fallen angel lawyer Jack Thompson) we'll find a way to accuse them of surveiling my web line or whate- OH WAIT... he wants that doesn't he?
Don't buy it, don't preorder.
BOYCOTT! :colbert:
Don't buy it. And for the love of god don't pirate it either. It won't help.
Buy it and apply crack.
I really want the game but I don't support the DRM at all. But I STILL think this is better than 'fuck you you get 3 installs'.
I really want the game but I don't support the DRM at all. But I STILL think this is better than 'fuck you you get 3 installs'.
at least the 3 installs get reset upon uninstall and works when you live in siberia... this doesn't.
a single online activation within 7 days if the game detected a web connection would be acceptable though. if you have no connection, it will take for granted that you did not pirate, how about that?
I really want the game but I don't support the DRM at all. But I STILL think this is better than 'fuck you you get 3 installs'.
Yes, that was the most fucking amazing backstab I've ever gotten! One in a million, killed the guy in one hit!
[Connection hiccups]
Ubisoft: STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM. PAY YOUR FINE AND GO BACK TO YOUR AUTOSAVE.
FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU-
I really want the game but I don't support the DRM at all. But I STILL think this is better than 'fuck you you get 3 installs'.
Except with 3 installs, you can usually call up the devs/publisher and get it activated on 4th and 5th machines. With this, it's internet or no game. Ubisoft isn't gonna give that up.
How do you guys know if you'll need constant connection on the PC? It isn't out yet.
How do you guys know if you'll need constant connection on the PC? It isn't out yet.
Because Ubisoft themselves said that you will?
Because Ubisoft themselves said that you will?
Ok, thanks, must've missed that announcement.
Solution: Buy this on console.
Better solution: Don't get this game at all.
The DRM for this game has been blown out of proportion.
Here is a link posted in the other thread by 1-800dialaki.
It clarifies that a momentary loss of connection will not boot you out of the game and if you do happen to get booted, you will resume at the last checkpoint, not last save, as previously stated. If the checkpoints work like they do in the console version, it would be hard to get five feet with out activating a checkpoint, so the loss of progress is kept to a near negligible amount.
Still a constant connection for a single player game seems arbitrary.
What the fuck? It's $60 plus the awful DRM. Everyone who bought it should be ashamed of themselves for letting Ubisoft pull this kind of shit.
Get it on console if you have one.
Don't let them justify this nanny state bullshit.
You're not cutting your nose off to spite your face that way too.
I can already see the news
"Assassin's Creed 2 receives much less sales on PC than consoles, Ubisoft blames pirates, stops developing PC games"
With the kind of shit they're pulling with DRM, it's not too farfetched.
Punishing loyal customers is ridiculous.
