Okay, let me explain why FFXIII should be released on the PC.
Graphics:
Admit it. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are quite dated already. I personally believe that the only reason why we get higher system requirements each year (despite the fact that console hardware doesn't magically change) is that developers aren't putting as much effort on optimization. Considering that the Crystal Tools is a PC based engine, optimization shouldn't be too much of a problem. Another thing that should be noted is that in addition to optimization, i'm pretty sure that a modern mid-range system can handle a few more bits of eye candy.
Gameplay:
The PC gaming elitist may argue that "it's too consolized". I can imagine that keyboard controls might inevitably suck, but that's where gamepad support comes in play, and gamepads are actually quite accessible. So as long as we have proper gamepad support and the visuals are optimized, controls shouldn't be an issue. Another thing that should be noted is the possibility of mods. They can range from simple gameplay tweaks to new areas, or even a total conversion!
Piracy:
Hey, the 360 version got leaked. FFXIII will still sell like hotcakes regardless of the platform. As long as Square-Enix aren't nazis about digital rights management, people will want to buy the game.
Other details:
The only reason i can see as to why Final Fantasy isn't being made for the PC is because of the rushed ports of FFVII and VIII. If Square took the time and patience to port the games themselves, I can imagine that Final Fantasy would have been much more successful as a PC game. Besides, The Last Remnant shows that Square-Enix are capable of making a game for the PC.

I can already tell that you guys aren't gonna miss the PC as a gaming platform.
Good luck with that, even when someone WANTS to do a PC Port it's shit 99% of the time
Nothing is worse than installing, Booting up and going through a tutorial level with your hand on WASD, other hand on the mouse, and the game telling you to hit the yellow Y button to open doors
1. As good as it could be on a platform that is barely knows of FF it'll probably be obscured and forgetten because of mass effect 2
2. Square can't work with PC if history tells anything unless it has the words supreme and commander at the same time
On the other hand capcom had a shit history with PC and look at the RE5 and sf4 port so it might be good
The Japanese game industry and gamers aren't really into PC games unless they're visual novels or something. An FFXIII PC port happening is as likely as seeing Steel Beasts or VBS2 for the 360.
Most PC gamers don't even give a shit about FF.
We still must unite as PC gamers. We aren't exactly getting those critically-acclaimed high-budget titles like we used to.
Plus, they could do the same regional exclusivity thing they did with the 360 port. Even then, we'll probably have to hope that someone can convince Gabe Newell to pay Square-Enix.
If we are to succeed in convincing Square-Enix to develop a PC port of FFXIII, then perhaps we can get others to follow.
Wasn't FF7 on PC? I doubt that FF13 will be released on PC, but maybe the FF7 remake will be released on PC considering that the original was, but honestly I don't think FF is a series that really needs to be on PC (you'd get better graphics, but that's it, I hardly see anyone modding for it).
I wish you luck with your petition but I'll be sticking to playing it on the 360. Some games just feel nicer to me on a console controller and that usually is all my JRPG's.
And yeah acds FF7 was ported I think around 1998 to the PC.

Final Fantasy has never been on PC for a good reason. The same reason Metal Gear Solid never should have come to PC. It's designed on a console, for a console. It would be shit with a mouse and keyboard. Same as FF

FF7 was ported to the PC, and everybody agrees that it was a good port.
Same goes for FF8.
I'm gonna get this on PS3 rather than 360. I can't wait! Hopefully this will make up for all the shit since IX... oh the glory days.

Would you have said the same if Metal Gear Solid 2 was a good port that utilizes the PC hardware? Would Kojima make MGS3 and MGS4 on the PC if MGS2 was optimized?
If we could convince Square to port FFXIII to the PC, it will show that WE have a voice. It will be the first step to bring PC back to the glory it used to have back in 2006! Even if we fail, we will be martyrs for a greater cause.
i really don't care about ff

nigga please
Any game (ANY GAME) that involves you shooting people is better on the PC. Any game that requires even a modicum of precision is better on the PC. However, FF is shit, and should just die, no PC port, no nothing.

No big loss, pretty much all Japanese games are crap anyway.

Have you played Dead Rising and Resident Evil? Those were made in Japan with American audiences in mind. Plus, i would have to assume that the lack of Japanese voice actors in the Devil May Cry games might tell about who their target audience was.
Besides, if we can convince Square-Enix to give a shit about the PC, it would prove how strong we are as a single entity.
There is no game that "isn't made for/better on the PC", simply because the PC can have exactly the same a console has if you want (hook it up to the TV and get a gamepad, and there you are, exactly same feeling as on console (as long as you're in-game) just with more power).
You can play a PC game exactly as if you were playing it on a console if you want, but you can also play with higher resolution, better graphics, moddability and M&K if you want. The key word here is "if you want".
That said some games don't need to be on PC because they would be more or less the same as on consoles (still for those that don't have consoles it would be a good thing).
It's a Final Fantasy game, it's designed for Consoles.
Have you played Dead Rising and Resident Evil?
No.
sue me
I agree with OP. All dumbs and disagrees are appreciated.
Perhaps you guys might rather play Garry's Mod and Diablo 3 on a console? If you wanna show apathy towards the possibility of console dominance, then by all means, but don't come crying to me if the PC's status as a gaming platform falters. In fact, I will most likely laugh if PC gaming dies and say "I TOLD YOU SO!"
Who gives a fuck it's just some shit JRPG that shouldn't even be made.

A point well made. I have to admit that games which are traditionally made for consoles CAN work for the PC. Look at Devil May Cry 4 and The Last Remnant (in fact, i would have to assume that the 360 version is a straight port of an early build of the PC version).
On another note, do we HONESTLY have to put up with the bullshit that PC gamers have recieved recently? If we can get FFXIII on the PC, we can prove that we shouldn't need to confirm to any sort of bullshit pulled off by ANY GAME DEVELOPER.
flashnoob give it up japafag
ff on pc? just makes the pc shitter
keep that shit on the consoles
I was honestly hoping that the end result is a unity between PC gamers, but seeing that's impossible, i guess PC gaming will end up in the toilet.

While I could say that all American games are mindless Call of Duty shooters, ever played the Front Mission series? While more than half of the games are available only in Japan, the underlying storyline feels very westernized, with a lot of themes linked with the ideas of nationalism in a world of supernations and the relation of the supernations' militaries with their citizens.
only fags play FF games
only fags play FF games
Only gangstas and chavs play cod.
Opinion is opinion, and yours is ignorant.
Just FYI I don't play FF. I don't own any console.
1. A petition for stuff like that is NEVER EVER going to change ANYTHING.
2. PC Gaming is not going to die because of a single game, there are still gaming companys loyal to PC gaming.
3. Square Enix is better off leaving it on consoles.

There's less and less pc loyal ones. They either go multiplatform or port from console to pc, most of the time resulting in dumbed down game.

A game being exclusive to one platform doesn't make it better, and yes, I fear crappy ports too.
