The blizzard updater is essentially bittorent, if your ISP filters torrents that's your issue, you can find online patch mirrors on wowwiki

Yeah, I always had problems downloading patches on BT. Probably best off finding a mirror.

I turn off peer to peer and I download patches pretty quick.
You could turn off your antivirus or firewall while it patches, may boost the dl speed.
Get a faster internet service.
No, really. Get better internet service. My local downloading speed is 15 - 37. I download WoW in 3 Hours.

I go to my friend and copy his World of Warcraft folder, delete the WTF subfolder and done.
