Modular Combat is a role-playing shooter based in the Half-Life universe.
The Resistance, Combine, and Aperture Science are testing the HEV Mark VI Combat System. Combatants face off against each other, and monsters, in the Controlled Combat Testing Facility, which is monitored by a super-computer known as BoSS.
There are over 50 modules that can be upgraded at any level, in any combination. Modules give combatants amazing abilities such as flying, teleporting, spawning minions, and shooting flechettes or energy balls. Basically, if you want to kill something in a special way...
We have a module for that.
It's finally here!
This has been a long time coming. Almost a year ago, v2.0 was a vague idea in our heads. We knew what we wanted to put into the game, but it was a vague idea. We worked for 6-8 months on v1.77, and with every day, v2.0 seemed to slip further and further away.

Back to Basics: Modular Combat 2.0.0
The extra .0 stands for everything we've always wanted to do with Modular Combat, but we always kept getting ahead of ourselves. Yeah, we scrapped all the changes we made in the last year... BUT DON'T WORRY. Bit by bit, we will adding them back in and getting your feedback as we go along.
Here are 2.0.0's changes:
New maps: dm_backbone, dm_datacore, dm_deadtrack
Scoreboard now shows current map & gamemode
Fixed teleport blockers
Aperture faction buff now gives auxilary power instead of armor regeneration
Module: Flechette. Fire a burst of hunter darts.
Completely rewrote suit storage code. All account and suit information is now stored by SQL. Player databases now handle different version of Modular Combat, meaning that server owners won't need to reset their servers ever again.
Players now get experience for monsters that they damaged that are killed by other monsters
Various UI updates and changes

Ahahaha, I have the best build ever. Maxed plague, almost maxed sprint speed, health regen.

Good to see an update. The last time I played it (some months ago) it only had 2 servers.
Needs co-op maps + HL2, HL2:EP1 and HL2:EP2 maps implemented as gamemode 5 or something..
Yea unfortunately they are still using an old engine so it can be buggy, I swear if they had steamworks they would have a lot of more players more maps and more gamemodes and all that
When ever i try to launch it i would get this message. [b] l: MountFilesystem( 421 ) failed: SteamMountFilesystem(7732.421,0xf74fd28=,0xf74fc18) failed with error 116 :Cache needs repair

Steamworks? If valve took this into consideration they'd probably make a purchase offer as a sequel to hl2dm.
But both ways, the user base would shoot up dramatically.

Delete local content for hl2dm and hl2 and the gcf files and reinstall.
At the very least you can do a defrag of both games.
I was on the Nachos & Cookies server earlier under the name of 'SPEHSS MUHREENS' and every time I killed someone, or they killed my, I yelled SPEHSS MUHREENS over the mic. And the best part is that I yelled it the same way every time. Eventually, someone asked if I was using HLSS or HLDJ, and everyone just said 'Nah, he is just that good'
i've download the zip, where do i put it/where is the exe file

This is awesome! I'm working on a fast guy with health regen and teleportation, so I can warp behind those damn turrets and avoid ambushes :buddy:

My past experiences with this mod have been extremely cheap modules, and shotgun spam. I hope that has changed.

I love teleport SO MUCH.
Some guy with a roadblock of turrets? Teleport behind them, crowbar them good! Sniper on a tower? You're right next to him! Shotgun guy hiding in alcove? You don't have to WALK past him!

I just added teleport to my plague build :D
It can be pretty buggy though, especially on the new maps.

I think I found a problem by the way, you can't bind Spawn Turret to a key in the options menu.

the modularcombat folder goes into steam/steamapps/sourcemods. Just like every mod.
This reminds me of that bullshit WCS mod in Counter Strike. Are the modules annoying and as overpowered as the WCS powers?

Only annoying one is Infection, which you get by being near a player with it, even through a wall. It drains your health and can only be cured by the person with the Infection module dying.

And when your playing deathmatch or free for all Fucking faggots with cloak and using right click on shotgun pisses me off. To balance it out they should make it so if you are cloaked you must uncloak to shoot, being cloaked and being able to shoot is fucking dumb because one guy kept using the same thing, that being the cloak + shotty + aux regen and he was getting 35 to 1 which made everyone rage
