• Steam is fucked up, not at home, Games won't work.

So, I am not at home, and I have installed steam at this computer. I downloaded TF2, worked withouth problems. Then I tried killing floor, and it did not connect to any games, saying that I have to be connected to steam and the internet. I just downloaded moonbase alpha, and the problem is the same, won't show games in the server browser. No error message though. I noticed that the Friend Overlay does not even start. Could this be the source of the problem? This computar has no router, it is directly connected to the Modem. It has anti-virus and firewall. It's nod32 and Windows firewall. I have added the whole steam directory to the exceptions list in both programs, but the problem still stands. I have disabled windows firewall. Still stands. I do not think that NOD is the cause of the problem, since I have it installed at home aswell. It also uses a windows 7 a 64x variant if I am right. What should I do? Do I need to open up ports, even though there is no router? I have tried to delete client registry blob, I even re-installed steam.
Port settings?
I do not know anything about ports. I do not know how to set them. But I know what they are, and my tip is that it's blocking it. where can I see the ports? Also, as I wrote, no router, only modem
I know I shouldn't really be saying this, but: turn the modern on and off.
[QUOTE=radioactive;23272914]I know I shouldn't really be saying this, but: turn the modern on and off.[/QUOTE] Why wouldn't you say that? Also I still need to know where can I view my port settings. [editline]12:14PM[/editline] Okay, I opened up the ports listed on the steam support page, in windows firewall. Still, it won't work. Do I have to do this with NOD32? Also since I do not have a router, do I have to open ports somewhere else, other than these 2? [editline]12:18PM[/editline] Wait, I should have posted this in the tech support form? [editline]01:50PM[/editline] It works now, I restarted the computer, maybe the port changes took effect. I also renamed the folder, do not use "special" letters for directory names (áűéúü steam does not like them.)
