So the official thread has screen caps posted in there, so I refuse to enter that thread. I was just wondering about this: Portal 2 Metacritic User Score = 6.2/10 http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/portal-2/user-reviews (user reviews lower down on that page may contain spoilers, posted it as proof of the score, just don't scroll down) What the Chell is going on, does the game suck or something? I also heard that PC was not the lead platform? Absolutely no tolerance in this thread for even semi-spoilers. Just post your own impression, or why you think the score is so low, but do not disclose any specific details. Before you post a link to a different website, check to make sure there are no spoilers on said website. If there are, then don't post the link. Verify a link as safe by typing "safe" beside the hyperlink.
Wow. I'm really surprised by the low scores.

Can't wait to see Gametrailers review of portal 2 5/10 -Not Call of Duty -Didn't pay us

'what the chell' gotta say I've never heard that one before [editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
snip
spoiler free zone read that
The game felt lacking. It can't hold the same charm that Portal had, since it is a sequel. The game play itself was fine but the mechanics and hand holding seemed to be lacking. The use of all the extras, such as the faith plates and gels, seem to be kept to a minimum and some areas just look too familiar. The music though. Love the music. I haven't played co-op yet, so my complaints may be completely unfounded as of this point. I will say though, Chet claims this is Valve's best made game, but I'd still say Half-Life 2 and it's episodes are better. They just have more substance.
I think Valve has fallen into the mistake of letting the game beoverhyped. People expected some godlike thing or EP3 reveal, but instead just got a nice, challenging and beautiful puzzle game.
Like most people, felt "used". I bought the indie pack (not just for the reason, to get portal 2 released early, but the good deals VALVe usually does). Waited all night. None of my questions that I had about EP3 or even the portal story were answered, and I beat it just as fast as portal 1. There was ALOT more dialog, but still, plus. As for the store, gay. Console player's won't see it, and only one other player will see you, and mostlikly (like me) that person is right next to you. VALVe use to be the leader in mod support. I feel that's slipping away. Especially with the new tools they keep promising.
I guess my assumptions about the internet were correct, the loudest people on the internet tend to be total manbabies, scoring a game by the lowest denominator only because of cosmetic DLC? Grow the fuck up.
Nope, just pc gamers like usual.

I love how every significant device has their own cue music when you're near them.

This post above is a prime example of the type of responses we want in this thread (in regards to the format).
Hat Trading simulator v2? On a serious note, this is just fallout from overhyped-ness.
Just completed it and was completley satisfied.
I really loved the campaign for once. Really, it was what I was expecting. A longer and more elaborated portal 2 with more speed/physics related puzzles. My only complaint is that some puzzle device like the light bridges were only used at one part of the game, then was suddenly replaced by the gravity funnels and never heard of again. I haven't played COOP yet, waiting for my buddy to finish his own campaign. The game is not 4 hours long by any mean either. It's just a bunch of people trolling/lying for some reasons I have no idea about. It also was pretty awesome that whenever your character gained speed, a techno-loop or whatever started and get you even more excited for the next course of actions. Would you pay 45/50 dollars for only one weapon that doesn't even kill people!"
Anyone giving it less than a 7 is a retard whos opinion shouldn't be taken into consideration.
I really can't find anything big to complain at this point. At some point the puzzles started to get a bit boring to me (which is because I played the whole game at one occasion.). I didn't feel like the game was short at all. It took me about 6 hours to complete the game, which is not too short for a puzzle game. Like Feuvert said, people who claim to have beaten the game easily in 4 hours are propably just trolling. Anyway, so far the best game released in a couple of years in my opinion. Valve rarely releases nothing but quality. I'm still a bit hyped because it's just a couple of hours since I finished, so my opinion might change a bit. Still, easily GOTY contender.
I love how one of the users posting a review on their is named " ValveSucks " Gee yeah let's take this guy seriously. [editline]19th April 2011[/editline] Oh and
4 hours. $50 Optional silly hats, SO RANDUM GESTURES XD and skins that were FREE IN HALF-LIFE 1 games. The gameplay is exactly the same as the previous game. Yes, I mad.
High-Fiving and waving to your partner in co-op = random humor apparently

[editline]19th April 2011[/editline] Oh and High-Fiving and waving to your partner in co-op = random humor apparently
People are troll-rating. There's no use pointing out what's wrong in their posts, since a lot of it is unfounded or fabricated lies.
I don't care about the ratings, I think i'm not even halfway in the singeplayer, and damn I haven't had such an enjoyable time from a game since, well... I dunno, this game is so damn funny. Great quality Valve, money well spent!
My biggest problem wasn't the game, it was the ARG, kinda seemed like a marketing scheme since the end product was Portal 2 coming out a few hours earlier. The game was fantastic though, so I'm not complaining.
I think its because of a swarm of crybabies rating 0 because of the item store or the whole ARG fiasco.
Pretty sure the low metacritic score is just due to /v/. http://i54.tinypic.com/2l8dlcy.png Link is spoiler free.
Pretty sure the low metacritic score is just due to /v/. http://i54.tinypic.com/2l8dlcy.png
Yep, this is it. Some 'tards made a lot other 'tards make accounts and rate it low. There are some legit low ratings because of the previously unnanounced microtransaction page.
Pretty sure the low metacritic score is just due to /v/. http://i54.tinypic.com/2l8dlcy.png
Sorry to be so strict, but check the protocol on linking in the OP. The measures are for everyone's benefit. (I haven't clicked your link yet) Thanks.
Unless the last 6 chapters are somehow under an hour long combined, this game is much more than 4 hours long. The music is great, the dialog is great and the puzzles are great. This is the best game I've played in a while, and people are stupid.
THE ONLY thing i thought it was really bad was the loading screens. LOADING EVERY TIME. apart from that the game is great.
Sorry to be so strict, but check the protocol on linking in the OP. The measures are for everyone's benefit. (I haven't clicked your link yet) Thanks.
It's just a screencap of a /v/ thread discussing metacritic. No spoilers. I'll edit my post to say so.
