So I have a little brother (6 years old) who is very into video games, he does have access to a PC but he enjoys the PS2 alot more and here is my problem, I don't have any experience with consoles.
So I need some help in finding some awesome games which would be suitable for him, he doesn't have a great deal of patience (Half - Life was a bad idea) but if it's a decent game, I can get him to stick with it.
Thanks for preventing me from staring into space at the PS2 isle for the 3rd time :P
Ratchet and clank

ape escape
Kingdom hearts 2
Time Splitters is awesome.
The Manhunt series.
Its about a lively family of raccoons who live day to day stealing trash & other food to survive. (Think "Over The Hedge" )
:)

Your post had potential to be funny but fell short.
Prince of Persia Trilogy.
You can't go wrong with the three Jaks. Jak & Daxter, Jak II, and Jak 3
Grand Theft Auto.
Trust me, they will be into it for at least 2 months.
The original Crash Bandicoot Games. Not the shitty TT versions.
Go for crash bandicoot 1,2,3.
Killzone(pretty violent game though, don't know if that's what you're looking for)
Twisted Metal: Black(this one is pretty dark and violent as well)
Sly Cooper And The Thievius Racoonus
Sly 2: Band Of Thieves
Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves
Crash Tag Team Racing
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex
Ty The Tasmanian Tiger
Fur Fighters(somewhat twisted humor and teddy bear dismemberment)
Ratchet and clank
This.
Kingdom Hearts or Ace Combat
Come to think of it, all the games I liked on the PS2 required loads of patience. Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Splinter Cell, Okami, Metal Gear.
Maybe get him Ratchet and Clank or the Burnout series.
harry potter (not the crap lego versions)
The absolute best choice for a kid his age is Magic Pengel. Seriously. It's very light hearted, it's (kind of) like pokemon BUT he can DRAW his own monsters, It's easy to learn, the battle system is like rock paper scissors (Magic<Defense<Attack<Magic), and I enjoyed it as a 16 year old, so I'm sure a 6 year old would enjoy it.
Sly Cooper series.
Destroy All Humans 1&2
Ahaha thanks.

Bolded games are fantastic, while all of these are great.
Italicized ones contain violence.
Red ones are must-haves.
Underlined ones are best games ever.
Also get Gran Turismo 3
Also that game in my avatar you should get it
EDIT: Ace Combat 4 and Ace Combat 5
Jack and Daxter series and THIRTEEN. Thirteen personally. Great game.
Resident Evil 4
RATCHET SERIES
CRASH BANDICOOT: ANYTHING
PS1/PS2 was my childhood. Take my word for this.

But why? How much fun could a racing game be? I don't really understand the appeal in driving a car around a track without so much as scratching another car and I don't understand why some of my friends worship it.
Racing cars has about as much appeal to me as reading the creepy pasta thread, a time - sink but oh god never again.
Ratchet and Clank, awesome awesome.
Jak & Daxter also awesome.
Burnout games are good for smashing-up fun.
I always liked the first Ty the Tasmanian Tiger game. It was different and quirky at the time. It also plays very smoothly.
Metal Slug :D

It's a racing sim. You work to get your licenses, buy new cars to be able to compete better with other AI drivers, and the graphics are absolutely incredible for a game made in '01.
Only bad thing I can think about is the lighting, which can make some parts really dark and hard to see - primarily in the Rally races (did I forget to mention that? Well, there are Rally races where you drift around on dirt tracks). But that's what the brightness setting on your television/monitor is for, no?
Also get the game in my avatar
Champions of Norrath
shadow of the colossus was great

How the fuck would you get GT2 in the PS2 aisle.
They didn't make it for PS2.
But buy Gran Turismo 1 for the PS1 online and play it in the PS2. Amazing.
EDIT: FUCKING BURNOUT 3 BUY THAT SHIT, I POURED ENDLESS HOURS INTO THAT GAME AND THE CRASH MODE IS FUCKING AWESOME.
