So apparently for those who got the retail version for consoles already have locked content on it, and we have to buy unlock codes. Ain't this grand? It also presents possibly the weakest excuse for doing it in the history of gaming. "To keep everyone together?" It's already on the goddamn disk you fucks. Seriously, just unlock it for everyone if that's your worry.
"I FEEL THAT I'M ENTITLED TO EVERY BIT OF CONTENT ON THE DISK BECAUSE I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT I DIDN'T BUY THE GAME I BOUGHT THE LICENSE" pretty much sums up the OP.
I don't really see the issue considering it's like a "Oh hey, you enjoy our game quite a bit so please spend a little bit of money on some more content" kind of thing, not game breaking at all. Just buy it and stop feeling like you should get it for free.
Because you didn't pay for what's on the disk, you paid for a license to use content on the disk. It's five dollars anyway, that's literally pocket change.
haha i point out the fact that you actually pay for a license and I get rated dumb. Stop feeling entitled you twats, it's only five fucking dollars anyway, who gives a shit about $5?
Sigh.
The old days were better.

You have no idea what you're talking about do you.
and we have to buy unlock codes. .
No you don't.
Reminds me of Modern Warefare 2 with all those game modes on the disk. Why charge me for something I already own?
So what kind of stuff is locked on the game disc? New enemies? Plasmids? MAP EDITORS?
Reminds me of Modern Warefare 2 with all those game modes on the disk. Why charge me for something I already own?
Because you have money.
They like money.
You have no idea what you're talking about do you.
Wait a second. Do you actually think that when you buy a game you have the right to do whatever you please with every bit of content on the disk? Because you don't.
"I FEEL THAT I'M ENTITLED TO EVERY BIT OF CONTENT ON THE DISK BECAUSE I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT I DIDN'T BUY THE GAME I BOUGHT THE LICENSE" pretty much sums up the OP.

You're being ignorant. When you pay for something and all the content is on the disk. But only a portion of it is accessible and you have to pay more to unlock it is just bullshit. It isn't like the company did some extra work and released it though Xbox liveor playstation store. It was all there, when i pay for something i expect to be able to use it all. Now if it was released though xbox live or playstation store and was totally new content that the devs spent time on after release then yes buy it. No big deal. But more and more companies are abusing DLC - half the fucking time it isn't even used properly. DLC is to give more content, NOT UNLOCK CONTENT THAT IS ALL READY THERE.
The gaming industry is beginning to sicken me. Back in the good old days of N64/PS/PS2/Xbox we got full games, most of the time quality content. Now we're expected to shell out 60-70 dollars and then a extra 10-20 dollars to unlock content we already own on the disk.
It would be like a car manufacturer that sells you a car. You get the car and assume you get everything with it (Content), then the manufacturer says "You only get car and no keys. The key you have to buy" That's bullshit right? you own the car, you shouldn't have to pay the company more to use it. It should have came with it in the first place.
(some what ok analogy, not the best)
So what kind of stuff is locked on the game disc? New enemies? Plasmids? MAP EDITORS?
Characters, maps, levels, weapons items
Basically you could level up to 50 or whatever originally, but they felt like they wanted more money, so limited you to 40, and you have to pay if you want to climb ranks.
even then why the fuck are you guys sperging over a five fucking dollar dlc

So don't buy it. You don't need that content anyway, just skip over it if it makes you so mad. In fact, organize a large scale boycott and just none of you buy the DLC.
That analogy is shit anyway because the keys are needed to use the car. This DLC is in no way needed to play the game.

Hurr durr warefare dulkadir beta test modes ding durr dice durrrrrrr
if they were balanced and fun they would be playable you dolt

but i still love you

Trust me I'm not going to buy it, hell i don't even own Bioshock 2. I'm just arguing because what they're doing is bullshit. The whole idea of DLC is not longer DLC.
The only people I've seen that truly used DLC what it is for is Rockstar with their GTA content.

Well dlc are fine in my book, but when the car dealer tells you 3months later that there was a dvd reader and a gps in your car when you brought it, but you need to pay a little extra so he plugs it in seems just silly to me..
we all know how well boycotts do with you guys...
(referring to the mw2 boycott picture, someone post it please)

Kinda different with a car considering a GPS is more on the "needed" side than this DLC

But do you need the DCD reader or GPS to drive the car?
Again, this content is just extra stuff. I'd agree with the whole "It's bullshit" argument if they had sold one half of the game and asked for an unlock code for the other half. But they didn't. It's multiplayer content that is literally not needed to play the game and it costs five goddamned dollars.

the GPS could be needed to get places, which would make it unfair.
But yeah, this DLC isn't needed, but they just want more content y'know?
Bioshock 2 was a depressing game, I'm never going back to it.
Bioshock 2 was a depressing game, I'm never going back to it.
Never tried it to be honest. I will never try it too, the story of rapture is done. And playing as a big daddy with super powers is pretty stupid imo. I'm not going to play it due to the fact i don't want to ruin the entire experience. Bioshock 1 was a well played story, that completely tied up all lose ends and closed the game. A new location should have been picked with new people and new themes.

But that doesn't mean they should be kids about it. This is like buying a used copy of heavy rain and being pissed that you don't have a paper to make the origami crane out of.

Yea that's what I felt playing it. It's forced, and there's tons of plot holes.
DLC= Download-able Content
You should not have to buy a code to unlock content that is on your disk.
When you are supposed to Download the Content.
Because today's developers don't know what Download-able Content is.
Well here you go: Download-able content (commonly referred to as DLC) is a form of digital media distributed through the Internet. The phrase is used to refer specifically to content created for video games that is released separately from the main video game release.

Be right back, I'm gonna start my own clothes store. There will be $50/$60 pants that I've cut one of the legs off of. If you pay me $15, I'll sew the leg back onto the pair of pants that you have purchased from me.
Be right back, I'm gonna start my own clothes store. There will be $50/$60 pants that I've cut one of the legs off of. If you pay me $15, I'll sew the leg back onto the pair of pants that you have purchased from me.
It's not like that at all. The pant leg is a part of the pant, an integral part. This is extra content that you don't need in any way to play the game.

No shit, the retail version for the console (Including unlockables) costs ten times more than on PC, since on PC you only buy a liscense code off steam.
Get your shit straight.
You can get by without one of the pant legs. Who are you to tell me what's integral to the design of my clothing?
But that'd be douchebag clothing :colbert:
Man, Activision is the bomb at knowing super cool stuff about business like you know like doing this and stuff you know?
It's like, they just want some love man, like all they need is some love you know? Business is all about the hate man, think about the love.
Also, this is fucking retarded. If you're going to ship a game with SHIT RIGHT ON THE DISC it should be able to be used right away. Jesus Christ, these people are like Capcom whom are huge dipshits when it comes to DLC.
All these companies need to do to bullshit us and keep us content is leave shit off the disc that they plan on selling, otherwise you just make everyone bitch about the shit company. Seriously, like man, we just need some love man.
