Ah yes, he was slated for an award on the 11th, wasn't he? Well, such a grand occassion's more than enough reason to reveal something... Doesn't mean it's predestined, though.

I'm also curious about this, is there a set time for an announcement or event of Gabe Newell making a speech or showing a presentation/video/teaser?

He'll probably talk about Portal 2 a bit, and a bit about the Mac getting Steam and such. Maybe a short reveal trailer for Portal 2 and at the end of it all a tiny mumble into the microphone about "other" projects. Then he escapes on a helicopter before being asked questions.

Just gonna be more Portal 2 stuff sadly, Ep3 is gonna be hyped all on its own. I just hope we get a trailer of Ep3 before the year is over.

Why do you all have to be so negative? We don't know if they're going to say anything on Episode Three, but we don't know that they're not either. (although they probably won't anyways)

Portal 2 coming at the end of the year syncs up with the rumors about Ep. 3 not coming this year. Plus GLaDOS 3.11 is probably just a reference to Windows 3.11. I hope I'm wrong.

Have you seen the recent interviews where it comes up? They carry a tone of "Why can't you people just let go of Half-Life already?". And recent evidence suggests that they are committing to one game a year and no more. We'll probably see L4D3 next year. There was even a comment by them that was to the effect of "We are not showing anything from EP3 because we have nothing to show you". There is no Half-Life game being made. They must realize how dated the design of Half-Life must be and are letting it die quietly rather than beating the dead horse. There's nothing unique about Half-Life anymore, And nobody cares about it's world and characters. There's better games and franchises out now. Face it people, Valve wants to move on and not be known as "The Half-Life Company" and Valve has other, Better game franchises now. Half-Life is dead. It's time for you all to move on and accept it.

at least a teaser of ep 3... Portal 2 would probably make me lose anger in no ep 3...
