I'm having audio issues in Portal 2 co-op. When in single player, the audio is fine. In co-op however, the audio stutters like crazy. I can't even understand what GLaDOS is saying. Is anyone else having similar issues?
The things I've tried:
- change the speaker setup (headphones, 2 speakers, 4 speakers, 5.1). They all stutter, even after a complete restart of the game.
- change the in-game volume
- turn cheats on and use "stopsound" to try and stop some potential stuttering sound. The sounds stop for a split second, but due to looping audio, the audio starts again the stuttering comes back
- update my audio + motherboard chipset drivers
The strange thing is that, as stated before, the audio is fine in single player regardless of any in-game audio settings. Portal 2 runs fine graphics-wise as well (in SP and MP). Does anyone else have a suggestion or a fix?
Computer specs:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 (3,4GHz, quad core)
Memory: 4GB DDR3
Graphics card: Nvidia geforce GTS 250 (740MHz graphics clock, 1GB memory)
OS: Windows 7 (64 bit)
Turn off v-sync
It worked for me
Ah, thank you meppers. Turning off vsync fixed my audio issues. :)
another option is to keep vsync on, but change it to a lower buffer
