I wanna play hl2dm or css or sumfin on my school computers, is there a portable/no install steam? same for css
No.
They're only downloadable.
-snip-
What are you trying to get around, installing the program or having to download everything?
You can copy steam.exe off of a flash drive and it'll connect and rebuild itself.
it would be cool to have some kind of steam client on iphones or some shit where you can talk with your friends or buy games.
get a big enough usb, install the core files of steam onto it, then install the games from the usb onto the computer you're trying to play on.
It's been done, or so I heard. My friend said he was on his iPhone on steam, dunno if he was lying or not.
I'd like to see a mobile steam for the android platform <3
All they need is a web version of the messenger. You can buy games and do community stuff all on the web site.
I have my steam on an external hard drive. All my games are installed on it, and I can play on any computer without having to install anything onto the comp I am using
I thought they designed STEAM so your games would be on your account, no problem which computer you were using, since you purchased the stuff, that piracy is only if you did not pay to get those games. All the time, I see TF2 and CSS played at the cyber cafes via Steam, but after downloading anything off of the servers, the cyber cafes delete everything.
As for your school, are you in some sort of public school still, or are you in college? There is no way those typical educators will let you do that in the pubic schools, I mean if your in a public school, it has to really be low budgeted that you can do anything you want in it and not having old woman watching you. I can not imagine their computers having the juice to do so. When we finally got to play Halo in school while their backs were turned, the graphics were really low.
I second that on using an external hard drive, but would you be able to bring in that external hard drive without having someone take it on you?
Stupid damn fucking public schools, if fucking site blockers were not bad enough, you can't even cock sucking allow us to play our games during lunch or option periods! Most schools anyway. I mean WTF! Maybe you would not be in debt, if you were not neuro typical assholes that were overzealous on your hell bent educational policies that really don't do us shit for adulthood in the end, maybe we would of cared and took the time to donate thru Box Tops for Education, but no, unethical policies, not allowing us to do our FPS online gaming will not get my generosity in return.
Hell, is anyone able to access Facepunch in school or work? You used to be able to loop around site blockers via accelerators, proxys and a different web browser then theirs via flash drive, but I don't pull that shit at work, public grade schools their stuck with you. College, you can do whatever the fuck you feel, so long as certain professors do not catch you.

download client
put it on a flash drive
get on the internet anywhere with no evidence you were ever on the computer
The piracy bit is in the portability method, the way you do it, you aren't logging into steam.
But unless you do some hacking, don't those game files only work with going through Steam, because aren't most game files ncf or gcf locked?
I was thinking a psp version of hl1 :saddowns:
