I don't care about the graphics, although it would be nice if the graphics were good. I want story, but I also want solid gameplay. it would be great if it had a coop version of the singleplayer, and it's always fast paced and good fun (or at least fast-paced stealth).
If there are any games like this, it would be fantastic.
Considerations so far:
Blur
Call of Pripyat
Singularity
Splinter Cell: Conviction.
not so recent but Trine with friends is fun
Mount & Blade: Warband is badass!
modern warfare 2!
Just Cause 2 is a blast but it doesn't have multiplayer (yet.)
Splinter Cell: Conviction.
This sounds like what you want, though.

co-op stealth and all that

Or ever
Or ever
The makers of SA:MP are making a multiplayer mod for JC2.
Oh, neat.
Metro 2033
modern warfare 2!
I'm fine thanks.
How's Metro 2033.
Two people recommended Splinter Cell Conviction so it's the best choice in the thread so far. :smug:
I would like to play it on my laptop!
My laptop has a
2.2GHz Core 2 Duo
4GB RAM
Nvidia G105M
but with co-op based games my ideal friend whom I will play with has
1.9GHz AMD Athlon x2
1.5GB RAM
8200M
I've heard mixed views on Blur, if it's your sort of thing go for it but imo it looks a bit uninteresting. Trine is supposed to be great, and fast paced stealth would definitely be Splinter Cell Conviction, it's like normal Splinter Cell but on action steroids
Or ever
yknow you really shouldn't post things you don't know about

Hardly much of a Co-Op though... It sucks ass.

eh a lot of newer games won't run very well on either of those cards, especially metro 2033 which has a reputation for chewing even enthusiast pcs alive

With these rigs, you won't be playing anything recent.
Metro 2033 is fun but's hard as hell
You'll be able to play Warband on your comp, although a RAM upgrade wouldn't hurt.

4Gb of ram is perfectly fine for even a desktop gaming rig, besides, a ram upgrade wouldn't help nearly as much as shelling out some money on a new graphics card, not sure how upgrading a laptop works though.
i gave jc2 the shoulder after one-hit-kill rocketlaunchers out of nowhere

Oh right, I read his friends specs haha, my bad. I have 4GB myself.

Shame, the game is hella fun, even though I never encountered these mystical rocket launchers of doom, I had more problems with SAM sites I couldn't find soon enough, or attack choppers with rockets while I'm on foot.
The G105M runs more recent games just fine. But I can stomache playing on low, especially since I have a gaming desktop for the full time gaming.
Low settings at 15-20fps is fine.

I see, his friends laptop... not much to be played on there. Certainly nothing I can think of.
Prototype

He said he wanted story and solid gameplay.
MW2 spec ops is actually really fun co op, most people just don't like it because it makes you look like an edgy nonconformist. GTA4 has great multiplayer and replayability. If you're looking for true stealth, try ARMA 2, the AI can smell and shit.

list of problems
sams
rocket launchers
endless helicopters
grenades
